DISCUSSION

3.1 OBJECTIVE ASSESSMENT-OBSERVATONS BY THE

CANDIDATE
(Basil Eldho)

For our mini project we chose TATA Motors as our subject and decided focus on the automotive
industry of India for our 1st and 2nd chapters respectively. 4 Members were present in the group,
Bibbetto babu, Basil baby, Balamurali, and myself. Since the 1st chapter “COMPANY PROFILE” was
divided into 11 different topics while the 2nd chapter “AN OVERVIEW OF THE INDUSTRY” was
divided into 7 different topics the group leader bibbetto suggested that we split the portions for
efficiency, so each member was entrusted with their respective tasks. Task done by respective
members as follows, balamurali did 1st to 3rd topics in the 1st chapter and 3rd and 4th topics in the 2nd
chapter, I did 4th to 6th in 1st chapter and 1st and 2nd in 2nd chapter, basil baby did 7th to 9th for chapter
1 and 5th and 6th for 2nd chapter and bibbetto as the leader did the merging and coordinating while
doing 10th and 11th in chapter 1 and the 7th point the 2nd chapter .Our objective for the first chapter
company profile was to study about their history, board of directors, Overall business activities of
the company, Operational data of the company, Overall business strategy of the company
including vision, mission and purpose, The products and services that are offered by a company
along with its prices, Financial data of the company including major assets, profits, and revenues,
,History of the company, Information about physical, financial and human resources, Management
and organizational structure, Short-term and long-term goals of the company.

For the the 2nd chapter an overview of the industry over objective was to learn about its origins and
the process of business, the market demand/supply the contribution to GDP, and Revenue
generation, level and competition, active firms ,pricing strategies ,performance in
global/national/regional scale and the prospects and challenges faced in the industry.

3.2 SPECIFIC LEARNING OUTCOME

Chapter1: We learned about the overall business activities of TATA Motors,its history , board
members, Overall business activities of the company, Operational data of the company, Overall
business strategy of the company including vision, mission and purpose, The products and services
that are offered by a company along with its prices, Financial data of the company including major
assets, profits, and revenues, Previous, present and future performances , Information about long-
term goals of the company

Chapter2: we learned about the Indian automotive industry through this chapter ,it was delightful

Learning that our country is the 5th largest automobile producers in the world and we will soon be
3rd largest by 2026 and that even a pandemic wasn’t able stop our growth, we also learned about
the history of the industry, and the firms and their competition between each other, We also
learned that the automotive sector contributes 7.1% of India’s overall GDP and 49% of India’s
manufacturing GDP, and the prospects and challenges of the industry was noted by us, The pricing
strategy was also impressive. In conclusion we can vouch that the Indian automotive industry is
extremely beneficial and it has even more to grow in the country turning our nation a global
automobile hub.
