SB 219 Delinquent Fine - Driver’s License Suspensions

EFFECTIVE FRIDAY OCTOBER 1ST

DMV will begin complying with the provisions of Senate Bill 219, which requires the reinstatement of a driver’s
license for a person whose license has been suspended for certain delinquent fines, administrative assessments,
fees, or restitution owed. The reinstatement will be done at no charge to you; some exceptions will apply.

For persons who meet the qualifications under this provision, DMV is working to remove the qualifying delinquent
fine actions which have resulted in a suspended driving privilege. We would ask you to be patient as we work
through these records. DMV will notify you once we have completed the assessment and/or reinstatement.

IF YOUR LICENSE IS ACTIVE AND UNEXPIRED

• If your license is still in your possession; your license is valid until the expiration date.
• If your license is not in your possession; you will need to apply for a duplicate license online at dmvnv.com
or you may make an appointment for an in-office appearance.
• If your license was surrendered for an ID card with no “other unrelated issues” you may be eligible to have
your driving privileges reinstated. Please contact DMV or drop by a full-service DMV office to inquire.

IF YOUR LICENSE IS EXPIRED

You will need to visit your local DMV office. You may be required to take a vision and/or a drive test:

• Less than four years: Vision

• Four years or longer: Vision and Drive

PLEASE NOTE: If there are multiple withdrawals on your record, all qualifying actions will be removed from your
record, however other “unqualifying” withdrawals will need to be cleared in order to bring your driver’s license
back to an active status. If you have surrendered your license, no longer have it in your possession or have a
temporary/restricted license, please visit your local DMV office to apply for a new driver’s license.
