This module focuses on the importance to learn the changes that matter undergo and its effect
on our environment. At the end of this module, you are expected to:
• to explain how changes in matter affect the environment.
Pre assessment (What I know)
Read the questions carefully. Explain how changes in matter affect the environment. Write the
letter of the best answer.
PROCEDURES
1. Review/Motivations (What’s In)
Identify what will happen to the objects when heat is applied. Match the objects in column A to
the products in Column B
2. Initial Activity/Discovery (What’s New)
The following materials undergo either physical or chemical change. Identify whether the change
in the materials shows good or bad effects on the environment.
3. Discussion of the Topic (What is it)
Changes in matter can cause a good or bad effect on the environment.
Some changes in matter results in good effects in the environment.
4. Enrichment Activities (What’s More)
Identify which bad effect to the environment results from the following changes in matter. Choose
the letter of the best answer.
5. Generalization (What I Have Learned)
Fill in the blanks with the correct answer to complete the thought of the paragraph.
6. Application (What I Can Do)
List down activities that you can do with the following materials to save and protect the
environment.
7. Assessment (Post assessment)
Read and answer the questions carefully. These focus on explaining how changes in matter
affect the environment. Write the letter of the best answer.
8. Additional Activity
Study the activities below. Draw a happy face if it shows good effect on the environment and a
sad face if not.
