“PERCEPTION ON DAVAO TRANSPORT APP; INNOVATION OF DAVAO

TOURISM”

Introduction

Transportation is one of the most frequently used in our daily life both personal

and professional lives. Transportation is one of the major factors that support visitors or

tourists in a country while traveling. despite that, if the country's transportation system

has trouble granting the desideratum of the city's population and the tourists, the

increase of the accidents and traffic jams may affect not just the countries tourist but

also the image of the transportation in that particular country.

Davao City is the largest city in the Philippines, outside metro manila. Over the

years, when Duterte became president, the traffic situation in Davao have changed. The

increasing urban problem here in Davao city, like the ongoing fixed of roadways and

bridges by the local government and the rise of skyscrapers that is giving some way to

industrialization. Davao City is continuously suffering from worsening traffic in the city,

thousands of people living in Davao city depend on public transport as a form of their

daily commute, since not all Dabawenyos can afford the luxuriousness of owning

expensive private transportation or even renting private transport like a taxi, with the

number of people commuting daily, the current public transport system of the city is

outdated and poor. The poor public transport here in Davao city is affecting not just the

drivers but also the commuters, especially now, that we are battling this pandemic, the

transport system in the city is now terrible.

The city currently has a total of 15,115 public transport vehicles, of which 13,985

busy city routes while only 1,130 cover regional routes. Of the total number of public

utility vehicles in the city, 7,278 are jeepneys, 3,602 are taxi cabs and 2,105 are

motorized tricycles (Carillo, 2014). According to Councilor Leonardo Avila III, chair of

the city council’s committee on transportation and communication, the city is collating

useful data on the transportation situation and reviewing research funded by the Asia

Development Bank (ADB) for a sustainable urban transport system in Davao City (Edge

Davao, 2013)

In recent years, transportation is now espousing the culture of mobile application,

with the advancement of technology, we cannot just communicate as we use it daily, the

advanced features of mobile phones have turned into an easily accessible source of

kinds of services both in personal and professional lives. Mobile apps have been

productively taken a stronghold over the transportation sector. Imagen just one click on

your phone you can rent a car to drive you to the destination you wanted, but if you're

the type of person that relies on public transport, with just a single touch of your mobile

phone you can avoid traffic since the app will let you know other roads you can take,

you can track your destination, you can track the real-time status of your travel. Most

individuals, that use transportation app has been sophisticated offering them more a

hassle-free trip.

Statement of the Problem

The purpose of this study is to learn the perception of people with regards to the

transportation application and how it helps the innovation of Davao Tourism. It is

likewise essential keeping in mind how transport app helps commuters to ride safety

and hassle-free which made the tourism in Davao change into hassle-free travelling.

This paper also examines the impact of transportation app to the commuters.

This research will answer the following question:

1. How convenient transport app is?

2. How does transport app can make the commuters travel hassle-free?

3. In what way transport app helps innovate the tourism in Davao City?

Review of Related Literature

Transportation

Transport, or transportation, is moving people or things from one place to another

place. Transport can be divided into infrastructure, vehicles and operations.

Infrastructure includes roads, railways, airports, canals and pipelines. The infrastructure

is the network where things are carried.

Recent studies show that not just the performance of public transportation but

also its impact on other social aspects should be considered in the planning of public

transport facilities (Saif et al., 2019). Since the lack of access to transportation leads to

social exclusion, social equity is increasingly incorporated as a long-term objective into

urban transportation plans (El-Geneidy et al., 2016) in order to enable people from

distinct groups of population to reach destinations at reasonable costs and times

(Hawas et al., 2016).

Mobile application
An application, also referred to as an application program or application software,

is a computer software package that performs a specific function directly for an end user

or, in some cases, for another application. (Alexander S. Gilis, 2018). An application,

also referred to as an application program or application software, is a computer

software package that performs a specific function directly for an end user or, in some

cases, for another application. An application can be self-contained or a group of

programs. The program is a set of operations that runs the application for the user.

Application transforms the ride-for-hire industry with the convenience of

ridesharing and ride-sourcing applications like Quickride, Uber, and Ola. It also includes

developing smarter navigation with traffic apps like Google Maps, Waze and INRIX.

Transport booking apps are effectively changing the way passengers interact with the

transportation system.

The fast progress of smart devices and applications in the mobility sector open

up a huge potential for mobility services that allow for an individualization of mobility

patterns. In combination with an increasing infrastructure of public transport and diverse

means of transportation, novel mobility concepts represent a promising solution to

societal changes and mobility needs. However, the increasing functionality and

multitude of options add to the complexity of using those services. The research is

embedded into an interdisciplinary project – Mobility Broker – in which the central

platform for planning and booking a journey using different public means of transport is

developed. (Anais Habermann, 2015).

Transportation application
The transportation app is a mobile app that we can use for traveling and

commuting. A transport app is like a travel assistant that knows every corner of a

particular city and never gets tired of giving us some information about the roadways

that we are taking, they are designed to inform us about the routes. it is a real-time

public transit app it has a lot of set features that we can use that can help us to travel

around a city using the transport that it has to offer.

Mobile apps have effectively taken a stronghold over the transportation industry

as well. The advancements in technologies are encouraging this sector to embrace

digitalization. Imagine booking a flight ticket to California sitting at your home in Los

Angeles or tracking the real-time status of your courier by a single touch. This is

something that our grandparents had never imagined. All thanks to the presence of

smartphone apps. It transforms the ride-for-hire industry with the convenience of

ridesharing and ride-sourcing applications like Quickride, Uber, and Ola. It also includes

developing smarter navigation with traffic apps like Google Maps, Waze, and INRIX.

Transport booking apps are effectively changing the way passengers interact with the

transportation system. (Nitin Lahoti, 2020)

Transportation system

At its most basic, the term “transportation system” is used to refer to the

equipment and logistics of transporting passengers and goods. It covers movement by

all forms of transport, from cars and buses to boats, aircraft, and even space travel.

Transportation systems are employed in troop movement logistics and planning, as well

as in running the local school bus service (April Kohl, 2017).

Transportation systems function to move people, goods, and ideas. Rail systems,

road networks, airline systems, and water transport provide links between places that

permit more reliable and low-cost movement of people and goods from point to point

than previously available. (Daniel Little, 2007)

Tourism
Tourism essentially refers to the activities undertaken by visitors, also known as

the visitor economy. The tourism industry encompasses all activity that takes place

within the visitor economy. This includes activities that are directly related to the tourist,

such as staying in a hotel, ordering a meal or visiting a tourist attraction. It also includes

indirect activities, such as the transport company which delivers the food to the

restaurant in which the tourist eats or the laundry company that has a contract with the

hotel for cleaning bed sheets. (Dr Hayley Stainton, 2020) Tourism is the act and

process of spending time away from home in pursuit of recreation, relaxation, and

pleasure, while making use of the commercial provision of services. As such, tourism is

a product of modern social arrangements, beginning in western Europe in the 17th

century, although it has antecedents in Classical antiquity. (John K. Walton, 2012)

Theoretical Framework

This study is supported by the theory of Sara Hernández (2016), consider that in

order to define an efficient transport interchange it is necessary to identify the key

factors from both a functional and a psychological perspective, since the users’

perceptions of their experience are particularly important as regards achieving the most
appropriate policy measures for interchanges. (Hernández, S., Monzón, A., & de Oña,

R. (2016). The greatest strengths of the interchange from the users’ point of view are

the information provision through signposting, the features of the internal design of the

interchange which have a direct influence on aspects related to safety performance, and

security conditions, particularly during day-time. (Gatersleben et al). Explore the idea

that such judgements are affected by the means of transport they use. (Iseki, H., &

Taylor, B. D. (2010). Analysis’s ways of reducing the perceived burdens of out-of-

vehicle time spent walking, waiting, and transferring to improve users’ experience at

transit stops and stations.

Definition of Terminologies

In this research the following words used have the following meaning:

Perception-  is the process of taking in, picking, organizing, and understanding sensory

information. It includes collecting data from sense organs and interpreting it in the brain.

Transportation- Transport or transportation is the movement of humans, animals and

goods from one location to another. Modes of transport include air, land (rail and road),

water, cable, pipeline and space. The field can be divided into infrastructure, vehicles

and operations.

Mobile Application- A mobile application, also referred to as a mobile app or simply an

app, is a computer program or software application designed to run on a mobile device

such as phone, tablet, or watch.

Transportation Application- Transit is a mobile app providing real-time public transit

data. The app functions in over 175 metropolitan areas around the world. Transit was

designed for aggregating and mapping real-time public transit data, crowdsourcing user

data to determine the true location of buses and trains.

Transport System- A transportation system can be defined as the combination of

elements and their interactions, which produce the demand for travel within a given area

and the supply of transportation services to satisfy this demand.

Innovation- An innovation is an idea that has been transformed into practical reality.

For a business, this is a product, process, or business concept, or combinations that

have been activated in the marketplace and produce new profits and growth for the

organization.

Tourism- Tourism is the activities of people traveling to and staying in places outside

their usual environment for leisure, business or other purposes for not more than one

consecutive year.

Scope and Delimitation

The scope of this study is about commuters perception on transport app and how

it helps innovates the tourism in Davao City. The purpose of this study will focus on

commuters perception in transport app and how it helps their daily life. At the same

time, this study indicates that there are more opportunities to establish a meaningful

relationship between commuters and drivers. The factors referred to this study were

commuters perception of dealing transport application giving them a free-hassle trip and

making their schedule less busy.

transportation apps when it comes to traveling, the goal of this study is to improve the

transportation system of the country.

It could also be a guide and may provide a meaningful result about this issue and

the researchers believe that the findings of this study will help people specifically the

commuters.

To the commuters, this study is beneficial for the commuters to be aware of the

routes that are available to take. This will provide them a piece of knowledge for a

hassle-free trip.

To the drivers, this output will be beneficial also for the drivers for the reason

that they are the most needed when it comes to transportation.

To the local government, this study may help you to gain a better

understanding and guidelines for a better transportation system in the city.

METHODOLOGY

Research Approach

This study employed qualitative research approach which is interpretative in

nature. A qualitative approach is a general way of thinking about conducting qualitative

research. There are a wide variety of methods that are common in qualitative

measurement. In fact, the methods are largely limited by the imagination of the

researcher (Trochim, 2006). This kind of approach was developed in order to look

beyond how and how often it looks at why and attempts to further and deepen

understanding of the social world. The participants were the foundation of data while the

researchers were the analyst of the data.

Research Method: Case Study

Many research strategies and procedures are available for explanatory reviews.

Related analysis examine, through reports of past reviews, permits the study and

understanding of difficult issues. Supposed as a method in several sociology

anticipates, part of background study method in research turns out to be more visible

when subjects as to education (Gulsecen&Kubat, 2006), humanism (Grassel&

Schirmer, 2006) and public based subjects (Johnson, 2006) for sample, poverty,

unemployment, stately practice, lack of education.

In this study, case study is used. These may include dealing with hypothesis,

phenomenology, exchange analysis, background study, for instance. The case study

method was used to scientifically develop a pattern model of connected examining

conduct. In this method, the study design is flexible, data collecting and analysis are

determined by the topic material, and exact measures are obvious while the study

progresses. Usual case study method and the measures taken to decrease their effect

are briefly argued (Fidel, 1984). The cases recognized depend on inside and out

meetings of the two student participants. Descriptive strategies were used to license the

professional to know the people’s perception on transportation application and how they

think it help to innovate the tourism in Davao City.

Participants

Purposive sample is used in this study. The researchers began with specific

perspectives in mind that they wishes to examine and then seeks out research

participants who cover that full range of perspectives. The participants for this study

were the passengers and commuters from Davao City. All of the participants of this

research will be questioned randomly by the researchers. The researchers take a look

and examined the opinion of those students.

In this, the researchers have gathered data about the perception of the

participants involve to the Davao transportation app and how it innovates the tourism in

Davao and identify who among the students and teachers uses transport app and gave
questions that they prepare. Expect that the students and teachers for this study were

those who uses public transportation. Since the research teacher provide 2 students,

the researchers had the focus group discussion.

The 2 students underwent an in-depth interview to be able to identify their

perception on Davao transport app and the innovation of Davao tourism. The

participants are important because with their answers, this study came up with reliable

answers that will add up as evidences.

Setting

This study was conducted through online platforms where the participants of this

study enrolled. The said school is located in Philippine Women’s College of Davao.

Research Instrument

The researcher schemes a self-conducted interview guide for the data gathering

process to get qualitative data. The main aim of this questionnaire is to gather data to

establish the Perception on Davao Transport App: Innovation of Davao Tourism. This

research will use researchable questions and is more open for opinion and perceptions

of the respondents. Through this question, the researchers are able to show meaningful

responses that are within the scope of this study.

For this study, the survey-questionnaire instruments were used to determine and

achieve the primary objective of the study. A self-conducted interview guide was asked

to the both selected students and teachers. This is conducted to students and teachers

to aim how effective and helpful the Davao transport app and innovation of Davao

tourism. The questions pertain to the nature of students and teachers who used
transportation application, its effects to the person involved and ways to improve the

transport app and innovates the tourism in Davao.

Data Analysis

A code in qualitative inquiry is most often a word or short phrase that

symbolically assigns a summative, salient, essence-capturing, and/or evocative attribute

for a portion of language-based or visual data. The data can consist of interview

transcripts, participant observation field notes, journals, documents, literature, artifacts,

photographs, video, websites, e-mail correspondence, and so on. The portion of data to

be coded during First Cycle coding processes can range in magnitude from a single

word to a full sentence to an entire page of text to a stream of moving images. In

Second Cycle coding processes, the portions coded can be the exact same units,

longer passages of text, and even a reconfiguration of the codes themselves developed

thus far. Just as a title represents and captures a book or film or poem’s primary content

and essence, so does a code represent and capture a datum’s primary content and

essence.

Data Collection

The researcher applied techniques in data collection in this study. Focus group

discussion (FGD) and individual interview were included.

Focus Group Discussion

A focus group is a form of qualitative research in which a group of people are

asked about their perceptions, opinions, beliefs, and attitudes towards a concept or

idea. It is one of the most popular qualitative research methods and is used when it is
better to obtain information from a group rather than individuals. The aim of the focus

group is to make use of participants' feelings, perceptions and opinions. Thus,

discussion is recorded simultaneously and the run of discussion may be observed by

the researchers (Krueger, 2002). Researchers organized questions to ask for the

participants to gather opinions regarding their different experiences about the Davao

transport app and innovation of Davao Tourism to strengthen the evidence of the study.

Individual Interview

This study involves direct interaction between the researcher and a respondent.

Consequently, individual interview is particularly useful for exploring a topic broadly. It is

fairly informal and participants must feel that they are taking part in a conversation or

discussion rather than in a formal question and answer situation. There is a skill

required and involved in successful interview which requires careful consideration and

planning (Gill, 2008). The researchers prepared questions for the interviewees on what

are the perception of the participants about the transportation app and how it helps the

innovation of Davao tourism. Each participant will be interviewed by the researcher via

online platforms.

Ethical Consideration

This study is engaged with collecting data from people about other fellow. The

need for protecting participants first became apparent since personal data was being

expressed (Brizee, 2012). Also, protecting the rights and welfare of those who volunteer

to participate in research is a fundamental tenet of research (Driscoll, 2006). That was

why the researchers had the responsibility to respect the necessities, rights, wants and

values of the participants.

The following had been compiled to protect the rights of the participants: 1)

explanation of the details of the research and the intentions of the study intentions is

prohibited so that the nature and aims of academic research were clear to the

participants, 2) modifying the informed consent process and considering it in improving

dialogue with respondents about data use and confidentiality, 3) maintaining privacy

and confidentiality to protect participants from potential harms including psychological

harm such as embarrassment or distress, 4) treating participants equally and with

respect to encourage the participation of all groups while protecting their rights and

welfare and 5) reporting the results accurately that were observed or told and not taking

interview responses out of context without putting them into the appropriate context.

Data Management and Analysis

This study applied data management techniques and analytic techniques. The

data management techniques were used in qualitative data collected through in-depth

interview. Furthermore, analytic techniques were used to develop these data.

Data Recording

All the conversations in the interview were recorded digitally as the participants

agreed to do so. On the day after the interview, audio records were reproduced to the

personal computer and all phones to ensure that the records had various copies. Then,

the audio records were transcribed and translated into English for the data analysis.

Transcription and Translation

Two step of transcript were used in this study. First, was the direct transcription

where the investigators recorded the audio giving the particular and real conversation

regardless of what language or dialect was used? Next is the English where the

prospect of the discussions was maintained.

Qualitative Data Analysis and Interpretation

(Marshall and Rossman, 1999) portray Data analysis as the way toward bringing

request, structure and intending to the mass of gathered information. It is depicted as

mixed up, questionable and deadly, additionally as an imaginative and interesting

procedure. Comprehensively - while it does not continue in straight form - it is the action

of understanding, translating and speculating information that implies a scan for general

explanations among classes of information (Schwandt, 2007). The interest with number

has at times been to the detriment of importance, through uncritical conceptualizations

of the objects of study. No place is this more evident than in the ideas pointers

approach, where determining the importance of ideas is lessened to distinguishing an

arrangement of pointers which permit perception and estimation to happen—as if

perceptions and estimation were most certainly not themselves 'idea loaded' (Sayer

1992).

Thematic analysis is used in this study where it emphasizes pinpointing,

examining, and recording patterns or themes within data. Themes are patterns across

data sets that are important to the description of a phenomenon and are associated to a

specific research question.

Reporting the Findings

In this research, findings were taken by developing themes which was done by

data management techniques. Clear information is stated in each theme. They were

presented in the table for showing multiple perspectives of the participants. The results

or the direct quotations from the participants were already organized in each theme

same as the information needed that was taken from the participant’s point of view. The

discussion was embedded in the presentation results.

RESULTS

This chapter presents the results which answer the research questions of this

study. It presents each case gathered from the student participants.

Mobile app has efficiently proved to be a versatile solution to extend the reach of

the customer and region. While Sara Hernández Theory said that to consider an

efficient transportation interchange necessitates identifying key factors from both a

functional and psychological standpoint is a must, because users' perceptions of their

experiences are particularly important in determining the most appropriate policy

measures for interchanges. Through the use of focus group discussion via messenger,

the first research question below was answered.

How convenient is the transport app to the commuters?

Based on the results of the online interviews, the transportation application is

serviceable to the commuters specially when they are in rush, most specially at night

when there no any public transportation available such as, jeepneys, tricycle, and

buses. Thus, travelling safe and hassle-free experiences were focused on study using

the second research question:

How does the transportation app can make the commuters travel hassle-free?

Results were broken into different encounters based on the commuter’s own

experiences which connects to the factors from both a functional and a psychological

perspective. These experiences were discussed interrelatedly in every student

participant. Thus, each student participant was treated as a different case from other

student participants.

JC’s Case
JC is member of a religious family, living in Davao City. Every Sunday her family

is always at the church for a Sunday Worship Mass. They don’t have their own cars and

their house are located somewhere far from the jeepney’s route. Her dad is one of the

pastors in their small church that’s why they needed to go the church as early as

possible.

She was asked of how does the transport app helps you for travelling less-

hassle? and she said “it helps us came to church early since the driver could easily

found a way where we avoid traffic. My mom doesn’t want to go to church looking

exhausted, she wants to always looking fresh so avoiding traffic could help her stay

fresh and I think it was the transportation app who give directions to them.” It explains

that her experience of using transport app is less hassle that the usual.

EC’s Case

EC is a call center supervisor, assigned for graveyard shift. She represented the

commuters who actively using transportation application every day to work.

“It is really a great help for them because they don’t have to text or call to ride a

cab. I am using this app for how many years so it can be a test that it is safe and easier

to use.” EC’s answer when she was asked of how does your perception influence other

commuters who wants to use a transportation app. This shows of how safe and easy

that transport app to use in your daily life. It also explains the advantageous of the

transportation application for workers who commutes every day. A transportation app

can also be one of the modes that helps you to discover other way that is less hassle

that the route of public transportation where traffic is uncountable.

EC’s lives in Pag-ibig homes, Catalunan Pequeno, Davao City and her work

place was located in Quimpo Boulevard. From pag-ibig homes it took her how many

hours before she could ride a tricycle to the jeepney’s terminal and when she went there

it was full of commuters. It will take her how many hours again before she could ride a

public transportation, which made her late for her shift. To avoid late and absences on

work, she decided to use transportation app. “Transportation app really helps me a lot

these days specially that I’m assigned for a graveyard shift so it’s easier for me to travel

from home to my work place.” EC’s answer when she asked about how transportation

app helps her daily routine. It this situation, she explains how transport app works on

her daily life as a call center agent. Inside those years that she has been using the

application, errors often occur, but she will just easily report the error and book using

different transportation app such as Grab and Hirna.

AA’s Case

AA is a real state virtual assistant for phone beast. He is a former technical

support in VXI. He comes from a wealthy family but doesn’t rely to his parents due to
personal reasons. He moves out to their house the reason why he moves away from his

workplace. AA was a in Davao City tourist from Parang, Maguindanao way back 2017.

Since he was a tourist, he doesn’t know any places here in Davao City until his friend

advise him to use a transportation app, specifically grab taxi.

“If they don’t know the destination, they can just easily use the app.” He

answered when he was asked in what way does the transport app helpful for the

tourists who wants to go somewhere around Davao City. “In the other reason, the

tourist could discover new places by using the app and it can provide them with

suggestion that suites their needs.” He added. AA means that using the application

intended for transportation will help the tourist who wants to go for a tourist spot around

Davao City. Base on his own little experience, being a tourist is not just about fun but it

also includes the status of the place they were going, which means they usually check

for the safety and security of the place.

One of the modes of transportation that avoids road accidents is the cabs that

was controlled by the transportation application because most of them are being

tracked. They had their speed limit and they also have Waze Map that will guide the

drivers to the way that will not take the passenger so much time to reached the

destination. In terms of the driver, the application will provide the information about the

driver for safety and tracking purposes. “Using this application during this pandemic is

considered to be hassle-free, due to the fact that they don’t need to go places to get a

cab. You just need to grab your phone and book a taxi.” AA answered when he was

asked of how does the transportation application help you specially this pandemic. It

also helps passengers to avoid contact to many people. It has an easy access to
contract tracing specially this pandemic in both commuter and driver. Since the

information of both commuter and driver are provided by the application used for

transportation which was one of the important things for the tourist on this kind of

situation.

DISCUSSIONS

CROSS-CASE SYNTHESIS

The cases presented in the previous chapter are largely different from each

other. However, all of them show the importance and help of the transportation

application on their lives as one of the users of the app.

Discussion

Various aspects emerged from the in-depth interviews conducted which are their

perception towards the transportation app. These are the hassle-free, and safe ride

which became the major themes of the study. These themes were presented in the

table below.

Table 3.1

Functional-related Aspect which affects the Perception for Transport App

Functional-related Aspect Exemplars

“It is less hassle and it is also a way to

avoid crowded places such as waiting

sheds. Which means it will be going to

save you from COVID-19.” (JC)

“It is way easier to navigate and book
Easy Bookings
cabs to wherever you go. If I have

complained or suggestions against the

transport company then, it’s easy to raise

or report it.” (EC)

Easy Booking

Participants often use the way that is easier that the usual. Book a cab easily is

better that waiting in the crowded places such a terminal and waiting sheds around. It is

more accessible to many places much as unfamiliar and distant place. Going to a

shortcuts and different ways will help the commuters to discover new places and route

at the same time. Different route will somehow make you want to travel more.

In JC’s case going to church every Sunday using the transport app to book a cab

is useful for her to discover shortcuts and new routes where they can avoid a long

traffic. Aside from going to church, they also use transportation app to locate a friend or

a family member that traveled inside Davao City. It will function to anything, they could

locate restaurants, or any other accessible places that’s seen on the map provided by

the transportation application.

Table 3.2

Psychological-related Aspect which affects the Perception on Transport App

Phycological-related Aspect Exemplars

“It can give time satisfaction and can let

them enjoy every place, treasure every

moment, and to have peace and clarity

Satisfaction on the time of travel.” (JC)

“It is actually a great help to all tourist

who visit Davao City. They can easily

travel from one location to another and

visit more beautiful places to feed their

satisfaction and wanderings.” (EC)

Satisfaction

Participants are dependent to have or to achieve their dream destination. Their

activities that include road trip, going to unfamiliar place, asking location, hiking, self-

direction and specially those who travel alone. One thing that is affected by satisfaction

is making yourself happy for what you did and where you go.

In EC’s case satisfaction for her is going to work early to avoid late or worst

absences. It affects her in the way that it stabilizes her mindset that she is not late for

her shift. Thus, she is interested seeing herself enjoying her work knowing that she’s

still as fresh as newly bath because she avoids traffic.

In AA’s case being a tourist is hard usually when it was about places to stay, and

routes. Using application for transportation is helping him going on a place where he

wants to go around Davao City such as hotels, parks, tourist spots, near club, and etc. It

is also safe since it’s trackable and the map is freely provided by the application

company.
SUMMARY, IMPLICATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

The final chapter presented the summary, conclusions possible interventions and

recommendations which aimed to elicit ways to increase parents’ involvement.

Summary

This study focused on the perception on transportation application and how it

helps the innovation of Davao tourism.
