Activity 2: Born to Humanity
"By virtue of being born to humanity, every human being has a right to the development and
fulfillment of his potentialities as a human being." - Ashley Montagu

The moment we are born in this world is the start of our life-long journey. First and foremost,
growing along the way, we experience and absorb many processes of developments whether in
physical, mental, social, and spiritual aspects. We also seek for opportunities to improve our
potentials and explore unknown potentialities and as we enter adulthood, we aim to find our purpose
in life in order to fulfill our destiny. All these phases and circumstances are considerably our rights as
human being “by virtue of being born to humanity.” It is our right to be developed and, to pursue the
meaning of our existence and to realize it, if possible.
Having these rights as human being are somehow natural and these are already connected
with our existence. Every one of us has the chance to understand and choose to do whatever else may
fill our minds and may look valuable enough to spend our lives doing. It became our freedom to be all
we can be and this should not be messed by anyone else. We have every right to a free society in
which we may try but it is restricted in a way that the rights we have is to make sure that we don’t
dominate others just to get the values we need.
