Description

Learning Action Cell is one of the trainings that promotes professional

development among teachers. This is in line with the department’s commitment to the

continuous development of teachers who plays vital role as leading foundation of

knowledge. Department of Education aims to develop teachers’ competencies by means

of collaborative learning sessions and this is through Learning Action Cell.

Objectives

1. Determine the benefit of online learning action cell and provide various means of

making it happen

2. Assess the level of performance of the participants and facilitators on the conduct

of Online Learning Action Cell (OLAC)

3. Recommend new training process and other training topics based on the feedback

of the participants and facilitators

Significance of the Research Study

1. For the teachers. The research study can be of great help for the teachers by

means of having continuous learning while in the state of pandemic. Teachers

may get strategies for the improvement of teaching-learning process.

2. For the School Heads. The research study will be helpful to school heads so that

they could cater the professional development that every teacher should be able to

do.

3. For the future researchers. The research study will provide the future researchers

a reference about Learning Action Cell and professional development programs

for teachers. Future researchers may also conduct interrelated topics that may

focus on the different perspective of this study.

Research Methodology

The research study will use descriptive design by obtaining data through the use of

online questionnaire and evaluation. The researcher will use purposive sampling, also

known as judgmental, selective, or subjective sampling. It is a form of non-probability

sampling in which the researcher will rely on her own judgment when choosing members

of the population to participate in their study. The researcher will consider this sampling

because through this sampling it is easier for her to gather data from the respondents.

The topics or competencies will be covered in the training will be based on the

survey to be conducted among the participants. The statistical tools to be used are

frequency, weighted mean and F-test.
