FIRE AND ARSON SCENE ANALYSIS

SCENARIO: Mr. Adrian Tecson is a businessman living with his wife, Miriam and son, Lucas in a 2-bedroom
bungalow house of concrete foundation and support; wooden outer walls and dividing walls and iron
galvanized roof. One room is for Mr. Tecson had recently lost a gamble which costed him a fortune which also
led to the closure of his lucrative business and moving in to the bungalow house he purchased after selling
their house which he insured in case of a disaster. At around 0200H 12 May 2021, Mr. Tecson’s house
suddenly caught on fire. His wife, Miriam Abruptly woke him up to the fire on the kitchen. She told him that
she was going to the kitchen to drink some water when a large portion of their kitchen is already burning and
reaching the roof. He held her by her arm and told her to grab their son and run out of the house. Miriam ran
west with her son, to the door which is opposite of the kitchen. He called the Fire Department and within
minutes, the firemen came and put out the fire at around 0330H 12 May 2021. Upon initial investigation by
the firefighters, A narrow V pattern burn was found out on the outside wall of the kitchen and the kitchen was
locked from the inside. Without a doubt, the presence of burn rags was also seen on the scene. While all of
these unfold, Miriam is seen hugging her son tight when she noticed her arm was slick and smelled oddly of
gasoline on the part where her husband, Adrian, last held her.

2. ORIGIN AND CAUSE OF FIRE
Ms. Miriam Tecson was going to the kitchen to drink some water when a large portion of
their kitchen is already burning and reaching the roof at around 0200H. Upon Initial
investigation by the fire fighters, a narrow V pattern burn outside wall of the kitchen was locked
from the inside. Without a doubt, the presence of burned rags was also seen on the scene.
while all of these unfold, Ms. Miriam is seen hugging her son tight when she noticed her arm
was slick and smelled oddly of gasoline on the part where her husband Adrian, last held her.

3.PRELIMINARY CONCLUSION
Initial perspective of the scenario puts the nature of fire as Arson and the suspect is Mr. Adrian
Tecson. Upon the initial investigation of the fire fighters, a narrow V pattern was found on the
outside of the wall of the kitchen and the kitchen was locked from the inside. And the presence of
burned rags was also seen in the scene. While all of these information unfold, and Ms. Tecson is
seen hugging her son tight when she noticed her arm was slick and smelled oddly of gasoline on
the part where her husband, last held her arm. The investigators also learned that Mr. Adrian
Tecson was a businessman and recently lost a gamble which costed him a fortune which also led to
the closure of his lucrative business and moving in to the bungalow house he purchased after
selling their house which he insured in the case of disaster and there might be possibility that it
was burned intentionally because there is a presence of burned rags seen on the fire scene which
maybe being used to burned the kitchen.
