BRIEF LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE


Renewable and Nonrenewable Resources
I. Objectives

At the end of the discussion the students are expected to;


A. Define what is renewable and nonrenewable resources;
B. Identify the varieties of renewable and nonrenewable resources;
C. Construct a Venn diagram of renewable and nonrenewable resources; and
D. Realize the importance of renewable and nonrenewable resources to everyday life.

II. Subject Matter

A. Topic: Renewable and Nonrenewable resources


B. References: 7th grade Discover Science textbook (Chapter 12 lesson 1)
C. Materials: laptop, power point presentation, video clips, pictures
Other materials: WPS(word) application, Gmail, Messenger, Canva application,
google classroom
D. Methodology: 4 A’s Approach (Activity, Analysis, Abstraction, Application)

E. Values Integration: Active Participation, Collaboration, Creativity, Appreciation


and love for the environment.
F. Skills: Critical Thinking skills, Communication skills, Creativity
skills, Media literacy skills, Initiative, Flexibility and
Adoptability skills.
III. Procedure

Teacher’s Activity
A. Preparation
Prayer: let us pray first before we begin our new lesson. Ms. Ana, kindly lead the prayer.
B. Checking of attendance of the student.

C. Review
(The teacher will present some pictures and the student will integrate what they have learned on the
previous lesson.)

D. Motivation
The teacher will present some pictures related to renewable and nonrenewable resources then let the
student analyze what the teacher’s presented.After analyzing the pictures, the student will try to guess the
next topic.
F. Discussion
(The teacher will divide the student into two groups and each group will present their ideas about the best
and worst source of power. Then the teacher will discuss the two natural resources, its variety and the
importance of the renewable and nonrenewable resources.)

G. Application
(The two groups will try to create a short advertisement about the proper consumption of the natural
resources)

H. Generalization
(the teacher will ask the student about the importance of renewable and nonrenewable resources and its
importance to our daily life.)

IV. Evaluation
A. Identification(7 pts)
1-2. Define what is renewable and nonrenewable resources based on what you have
understand on our discussion for today.

_____4. It is a combustible black or brownish-black sediment rock, composed mostly
carbon and hydrocarbons
_____5. It is a nonrenewable resource that builds up in liquid form between the layers of
the Earth's crust.
_____6. Is uses the ‘wind’ to provide mechanical power through wind turbines to turn
electric generators for electrical power.
_____7. It is the largest dam in the Philippines and sixteenth largest in the world.
B. Enumeration (5pts)
Compare and contrast the varieties of renewable and nonrenewable resources using a Venn
diagram.
C. Essay (3pts)
What actions could you do to conserve and protect our natural resources.
V. Assignment
Create a digital poster or slogan about, “The Proper Consumption of Nonrenewable
Resources”. Suggested application can be used are Canva app, Picsart, Microsoft Publisher.
Then post it on your Social Media accounts whether on Facebook, Instagram, twitter or
another platform. For caption, put some inspirational message and it must be self-made.
Lastly don’t forget to put #SaveOurNaturalResources.
