ACTIVITY/ EXERCISE 7

EGGS

Enumerate key features or characteristics that differentiates a Chicken Egg and a Duck Egg.

Duck eggs are typically 50–100% larger than chicken eggs. They also have a deep orange yolk,
which is said to be much richer and creamier than chicken egg yolk.

Duck eggs and chicken eggs are both high in protein, fat, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and
bioactive peptides, all of which contribute to optimal human health in a variety of ways.

The yolks differ in size and color as well. While chicken egg yolks are typically pale or bright
yellow, duck egg yolks are a deeper shade of golden orange. When compared to a chicken yolk, a
duck yolk appears more vibrant.

Duck egg yolks are also larger, which is due in part to the fact that duck eggs are larger than chicken
eggs.
