21st Century Literature Matters

Literature is a must-have, not a requirement, in one's life. There are a variety of reasons why it is
important for people of all ages, especially young adults.

Literature is a reflection of other people's life and perspectives. One of the numerous advantages is
that it broadens the reader's horizons. Reading allows one to sympathize with the experiences of others
while also expanding one's own life pages. Readers go through diverse cultures and religions, caste,
creed, and sex in the boat of narration to various locations in the past, present, and future. Young
children's futures can be substantially shaped by fiction such as Harry Potter, because they may not have
to fight trolls or wizards, but they may encounter obstacles that require the assistance of friends or, in
the case of Harry Potter, the assistance of others. They may not envision themselves defending
themselves in a hopeless case, but they understand the value of standing up for what they believe in.
Literature assists in putting oneself in someone else's shoes and viewing the world exclusively through
their eyes. Literature is about experiencing and participating in life, but business writing is about facts,
data, figures, and statistics. It brings topics to life for the readers to see and feel. Although it is true that
the death toll is a quantity used in business evaluations, the tragedy of loss is felt by the reader of
literature. The dramatic drop in young readers has resulted in a dearth of democratic ideas. The fact that
they lack historical, political, and civil understanding is a threat. For the economy to thrive in the twenty-
first century, aggressive reading habits, as well as imagination, are required, both of which are fostered
by literary reading. Passive pursuits like watching TV or surfing the web have actively taken up literature.
Reading is a very active activity that needs constant and intense attention, as well as extensive use of
memory and imagination.

If all of these conditions continue to exist for an extended period of time, citizens will be less
informed. Our country will become less informed, less active, and more reliant. A free, innovative, or
productive society cannot afford to lose these attributes. If comparable circumstances prevail, history
will be eroded. Education, culture, and history are all promoted through literature.
