WHAT IS MOTIVATION

- Motivation involves the biological,emotional,social and cognitive forces.that


activate behavior in everyday usage. The Term “Motivation” is frequently used to
describes why a person does something it is the driving force behind human
actions.
- In Other Words Motivation Doesn’t just refer to the factors that activate bevahiors it
is also involves that direct and maintain these goal –directed actions.
- According to Swindell(2012)-motivations means the drive and ambitions needed to
achieve your goal we all need that extra push at some stage of our life wether it be
at work in school or home or maybe to give up a bad habit or shed a few pounds.We
need to get a Job done and achieve a goal.
TYPES OF MOTIVATION

Different Types of motivation are frequently describe as being either


extrinsic or intrinsic:
1.) Extrinsic motivations- are those that arise from outside of the individual
and often involve rewards such as trophies, money, social recognition, or
praise.
2.) Intrinsic motivations- are those that arise from outside of the individual
and often involve rewards such as trophies, money, social recognition, or
praise.
EXAMPLE OF EXTRINSIC AND INTRINSIC
MOTIVATIONS

• Intrinsic Motivation- Motivated behaviors are performed because


of The Sense Of Personal Satisfaction that They Bring
• Extrinsic motivation- is outside of acts on the individual Rewards
Such as a Job Promotion,Money a Sticker Or Candy- Are Good
Example Of Extrinsic Motivators.
USES OF MOTIVATION
• There are many different uses for motivation. It Serves as Guiding Force for all
human behavior but understanding how it works and the factors that may impact
it can be important in a number of ways.
• Understanding Motivation Can:
• Help people take action
• Help improve the efficiency of people as they work toward goals
• Help people feel more in control of Their Lives
• Encourage people to engage in health-oriented behaviors.
THE IMPACT OF MOTIVATION

• Anyone who has ever had a goal (like wanting to lose 20 pounds
or run a marathon) immediately realizes that simply having the
desire to accomplish something is not enough. Achieving such a
goal requires the ability to persists through obstacles and
endurace to keep going in spite of difficulties
THERE ARE THREE MAJOR COMPONENTS OF
MOTIVATION
• ACTIVATION- Involves the decision to initiate a behavior,such as enrolling in
pyschology class
• PERSISTENCE- Is The continued Effort Toward a goal even though obstacles may
exist. An example of Persistence would be taking more psychology courses in
order to earn a degree although it requires a significant investment of time,energy
and resources.
• INTENSITY- Can be seen in the concetration and vigor that goes into pursuing goal
For Example One Student might coast by without much effort while another
student will study regularly, participate in discussion and take advantage of
research opportunities outside of class.
TIPS OF MOTIVATION

• All people Experience fluctuations in Their Motivations and


willpower. Sometimes you Might Feel Fired up And highly driven
to reach your goals,while at other times you might feel listless or
unsure of what you want or how to achieve it.
WHAT IS HUMAN BEHAVIOR

• Human behavior is the potential and expressed capacity mentally, physically, and socially of
human individuals or groups to respond to internal and external stimuli throughout their life.
Human behavior is studied by the social sciences, which include psychology, sociology, economics,
and anthropology
• In Other Words Human behaviour refers to the way humans act and interact. It is based on and
influenced by several factors, such as genetic make-up, culture and individual values and
attitudes.
• Human Behavior- According to “businessdictionary.com” human behavior is the capacity of
mental,physical,emotion,and social activities experienced during the five stages of a human being
life,prenatal,infaney,childhood,adolescenes and adulthood.
4 TYPES OF HUMAN BEHAVIOR

• A study on human behavior has revealed that 90% of the population can be classified into
four basic personality types:
• Optimistics Behaviour- is a mental attitude characterized by hope and confidence in success
and a positive future. Optimits are those who expect goods things to happen,where
pessimits inteads predict unfavorable outcomes.
• Pessimism Behaviour- is defined by the American Psychological Association as "the attitude
that things will go wrong and that people's wishes or aims are unlikely to be fulfilled."A
person with a pessimistic personality tends toward a more negative—or some might say,
realistic—view of life.

• Trusting Behavior- is a set of behaviors, such as acting in ways that


depend on another. Trust is a belief in a probability that a person will
behave in certain ways. Trust is an abstract mental attitude toward a
proposition that someone is dependable. Trust is a feeling of
confidence and security that a partner cares
• Envious Behavior- people tend to feel hostile, resentful, angry and
irritable. Such individuals are also less likely to feel grateful about
their positive traits and their circumstances. Envy is also related to
depression, anxiety, the development of prejudice, and personal
unhappiness.
HOW DOES MOTIVATION AFFECT HUMAN
BEHAVOIR ?
• Motivation refers to the dynamics of our behavior, which involves our needs,
desires, and ambitions in life. Achievement motivation is based on reaching success
and achieving all of our aspirations in life. Achievement goals can affect the way a
person performs a task and represent a desire to show competence.
• In Terms Motivation and Human Behavior is more important factor in everyday
life.Our Basic Behavior And Feelings are affected by our inner drive to succeed over
life’s challenges while we set goal for ourselves. Our Motivation also promotes our
feelings of competence and self worth as we achieve our goals.
EXAMPLES OF HUMAN BEHAVIOR

We lie- This is The Common Example of Human Behavior Nobody


knows for sure why human lie so much,but studies find that its
common and that its often tie to deep.
We crave violence – Some researchers figure we crave violence,that
its in our brains. A study in 2008 concluded that humans seem to crave
violence just like they do sex,food or drugs.
We cling to Bad Habits- Perhaps everything else on this list would be
far less problematic if we were not such creatures of habit. In
Fact,Studies have found that even when the risk of a particular bad
habit are well known people find it hard to quit .
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MOTIVATION AND HUMAN
BEHAVIOR.

• The relationship Between Motivation And Human Behavior.


• - Human Behavior has been the Source of debate and intrigue for
pyschologist,sociologist,biologist and philosopher for centuries.The Expression Of
Human wants,needs and desires stem from an internal experiences that drives
external behaviors The two broad Categories of motivational needs,are
distinguished as intrinsic and extrinsic motivation ,and within these distinctions are
various sources of motivational needs,such as biological and social needs
motivation shares a critical relationship with behavior because motivation act as a
catalyst for behavior the root of evey behavior can be linked to an intrisic or extrinsic
motivation,meaning an individual behavior is a reflection of their motivation.
