MODULE 1

ACTIVITY 1: Answer the following question in the space provided. Write your answers at the
back page.

1. What is Old Testament?

- The Old Testament is the first section of the Bible, covering the creation of Earth
through Noah and the flood, Moses and more, finishing with the Jews being expelled
to Babylon. The Bible’s Old Testament is very similar to the Hebrew Bible, which
has origins in the ancient religion of Judaism.
2. Do you believe that you are an instrument of God’s peace? Why?
- Yes, I am. According to St. Francis, an Instrument of God’s peace is a person who
actively seeks to make goodness out of badness. Doing good things is one of the
easiest way to consider yourself an Instrument of God’s peace. For instance, instead
of hating your enemy and seeking for revenge, you must forgive and love them. Make
peace to each other, because God don’t want us to do evil things or become evil.

Before we go to the next topic, Do the following as being ask for. Write your answer at
the back page.
1. How many books are there in Old Testament?
- 17 books
2. Read one book from Old Testament, made a summary and choose two verses which
caught your attention? Why?
SUMMARY OF THE BOOK OF GENESIS
God created a universe that was good and free from sin. God created humanity to have a
personal relationship with Him. Adam and Eve sinned and thereby brought evil and death
into the world. Evil increased steadily in the world until there was only one family in
which God found anything good. God sent the Flood to wipe out evil, but delivered Noah
and his family along with the animals in the Ark. After the Flood, humanity began again
to multiply and spread throughout the world.

God chose Abraham, through whom He would create a chosen people and eventually the
promised Messiah. The chosen line was passed on to Abraham’s son Isaac, and then to
Isaac’s son Jacob. God changed Jacob’s name to Israel, and his twelve sons became the
ancestors of the twelve tribes of Israel. In His sovereignty, God had Jacob’s son Joseph
sent to Egypt by the despicable actions of Joseph’s brothers. This act, intended for evil by
the brothers, was intended for good by God and eventually resulted in Jacob and his
family being saved from a devastating famine by Joseph, who had risen to great power in
Egypt.
FAVORITE VERSES

 Genesis 2:18, "The LORD God said, 'It is not good for the man to be alone. I
will make a helper suitable for him.'”
Reason: I’m thankful to the fact that God come to think of creating a woman for
the man he created to have a partner. What caught my attention to this verse is
that when God describe something as "not good." Imagine, God almost created a
perfect world but still there is something lacking to all his creations.
 Genesis 1:27, "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of
God he created them; male and female he created them."
Reason: This verse let me remember the fact that I’m not ugly because I am
created in God’s own image. Every person is beautiful, it just that there are person
who would judge you in this world.

Enrichment Activities:
Answer the following questions. Write your answer at the back page.
1. How many books are there in New Testaments?
- 27 books
2. Read one book from the New Testament and make summary of what have you learned on
the book? What verse captives you most? Why?

SUMMARY OF WHAT I LEARNED

Jesus Christ is the Divine Son of Heavenly Father and Mary. If we are sensitive to the
Spirit, we can receive revelation and guidance. We demonstrate true repentance to the
Lord as we change our desires and actions to follow His teachings. Baptism by
immersion by one holding authority is essential for salvation. The Father, the Son, and
the Holy Ghost are three distinct and separate Beings. When we recall and apply truths
taught in the scriptures, we can resist the devil’s temptations. Jesus Christ brings light
into the lives of those who are in darkness. If we immediately respond to the Savior’s
invitations to follow Him, He can make more out of our lives than we can on our own.
As we develop Christlike attributes, we will find increased happiness. Becoming
contaminated by the sins of the world can prevent us from being a blessing to others. Our
righteous example can encourage others to draw nearer to Heavenly Father.
3. Do you agree that, “For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in
Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23) why?
