NOVEMBER (INTRODUCTION.- Starter Unit )


General objectives: To revise the use of present tenses + to express routines both orally
and in written form + to describe present actions orally + to revise will + going to + to
talk about future plans + to make predictions + to learn and use vocabulary about
Halloween and learn about this tradition around the world.
Contents:
 Grammar:
o Pronouns and possessive
o Present Tense review.- Present simple and present continuous
(discrimination)
o Will and Be going to

 Vocabulary: Vocabulary and reading genre + Phrasal verbs for


relationships.

 Speaking:
o Talking about routines, talking about the future, answering questions.
o Keeping in touch. How easy is it for young people to keep in touch with
friends in other towns or countries?
o What´s the best story you have read or watched in the cinema? Talking
about books and films.
 Writing:
o Describe a film or book.- Guess the film or book that your partner
describes. (type of film, characters, what happens).- pag 7

o Writing a short paragraph. What can you do to make a new student

 Culture: Halloween traditions in UK and USA. How it is being introduced in


Spain.

REVISION: All the previous grammar objectives for the end of trimester exam.

 Speaking:
o Talking about volunteering.
o What was the last trip you went on? Would you recommend it? Why?

o Talking about different types of holidays. What type of holiday do you

checking comprehension, the teacher will explain how to write a similar text. The
teacher should highlight the organization and expressions they should use.
After that, they will be given a task to do at home. They could start planning in
class if time. Doing a writing task at home is mandatory, to reinforce the ideas
previously introduced.

*EXTENDED WRITING.- write a mail to your friend. Students should do an

*FINAL PROJECT*
PRESENTATION.- Writing about your hometown. (Environment, Buildings,
Events, Festivals, history, Industry).- Pag.-29. The presentation should involve the new
vocabulary learnt in the lesson, such as new adjectives to describe places.
*Make a list about interesting things in your town, city or region. Write a paragraph
talking about buildings, music, sports, events/festivals, history, famous people,
environment, industry. Search information, choose photographs and present to the rest
of your mates. You can do it individually or in pairs.

 Grammar:
o Modals; Advice, obligation, necessity.
o Permission: Can/ could/ be allowed to

o Expressing advantages and disadvantages.

 Writing: Introduce a new writing genre.- the ARTICLE. First, students will
be shown an example (pag 43). They will read the example and, after checking
comprehension, the teacher will explain how to write a similar text. The teacher
should highlight the organization and expressions they should use (pag 43)
After that, they will be given a task to do at home. They could start planning in
class if time. Doing a writing task at home is mandatory, to reinforce the ideas
previously introduced.
 Write an article about an important issue in the world at the moment.

Task 4 — Extended writing Write an essay (70–100 words) for your teacher
with the title ‘My favourite place’. You should:
» describe your favourite place and
» explain why you like it.

You should plan your essay before you start writing. Think about what you
are going to write and make some notes to help you.

* CELEBRATING EASTER. Do some activities related to this cultural celebration
around the world. In 2021, Easter will fall on Sunday, from the 28th of March to
April the 4th .

At the end of the month students should have practiced at least:

 Speaking:

o Debate about stereotypes related to young people.
