    Why do females have cravings during their menstrual period?

    1. Due to Change in the levels of the hormones estrogen which cause cravings for foods

    rich in carbohydrates and sugars

    2. Due to increase in the resting metabolic rate i.e you burn anywhere between 2 and 10

    percent more calories than normal.

    3. Due to a drop in dopamine levels

    4. Due to loss of blood nutrients leading to conditions like pica

    5. Due to decreased levels of progesterone hormone

    6. Due to a drop in serotonin levels
