Its main purposes are to help plan work schedules, to provide a graphic picture
of the physical relationship of rooms, and to make sure that all rooms and
spaces are accounted for.

• Vacant Room = 5 minutes
• Check-out Room = 36 minutes

Make ready and put away time 20 minutes

Eating & Resting time 30 minutes
Personal, delay, and fatigue time loss 50 minutes
Time available for cleaning tasks 370 minutes

The function of scheduling workers in the housekeeping


department is of great importance. The manager must juggle
several factors in order to protect the interests of the company,
fulfill the the individual needs of the workers, and provide guest
satisfaction

Rotational Schedule: is to ensure that all teams will
eventually have a week-end off.

Four days work week: system consisting 10 hour shift


each working day

Other
Part-time Workers: hiring employees who are willing to
work less than 40 hours per week such as retired or
students

Scheduling Flexible Work Hours: employees may be allowed to begin

Methods and end their shift at times convenient to them

Job Sharing: is to allow two or more employees to


accomplish a job regardless of who does it any particular
time.

Dalam pembuatan jadwal khususnya di operasional (Front
Office) perlu diperhatikan hal-hal dibawah ini :

• Pembuatan jadwal umumnya dibuat per Minggu agar


memudahkan ketika karyawan mengambil hak cuti/libur.
• Dalam satu hari, terdapat pembagian shift pagi, siang,
malam dan middle.
• Dalam satu hari diutamakan ada leader/supervisor yang
bertugas
• Perlu diperhatikan karyawan dalam mengambilan hak
cuti/libur sudah terpakai berapa kali (outstanding leave)
• Jadwal tersebut dibuat oleh seorang supervisor, disetujui
oleh leader / manajer departemen dan diketahui oleh
personalia (human resources development).
TUGAS
1) Mini Cases

You have just been hired as Assistant Exc. Housekeeper of the 600
rooms Cactus resort in the Southwest. The section housekeeper
workload per shift is 14 rooms and the average number of hours
worked is 8 hours. Your immediate boss, Mr. Brown, has been asked by
the General Manager to provide the cost of labor for the housekeeping
department for the up-coming month of June. The occupancy
percentage for the hotel has been estimated to be 88%. Mr. Brown
entrusts you with the job of working out the cost of for the section
housekeepers needed clean the guestrooms in June, informing you
that the average section housekeeper hourly wage next month is $
6.05 per hour worked. What would your response be.
