Abstract

This work seeks to know and understand the different processes, sub-processes, activities
and procedures used in the Acerías Paz del Rio company, with the specific objective of
transforming the raw materials of iron ore, coal, limestone and other products into usable
steel. in different sectors of the economy in Colombia.
Objectives

Overall objective: Make the flow diagram of processes and procedures of Acerias Paz del

Rio

Specific objectives:

Identify the processes and procedures of the logistics chain de Acerías Paz del Rio.

Detailing logistics processes and procedures through a flowchart.

1. Process and procedures


In Acerías Paz el Rio the process logistics related to the supply of raw materials and the
materials necessary for the operation of the company are managed by the Supply Chain vice-
presidency, in which we find the following areas

Purchases
Transport
Storage

1.1.Purchases
The purchasing area receives the request to acquire the products necessary for the
operation of the plant, according to this the approval of the financial area is sought, then
contact is made with the suppliers of each material or necessary element.

1.2. Transport
Is in charge of managing the transport of some raw materials, finished product and
coordinating the transport of materials and elements within the plant from the warehouses to
each requesting area. The entire process is carried out by hiring companies that provide the
service.

There the stocks of both raw materials and complementary materials as well as those
related to the finished product are managed.
The stocks and orders are verified by each area from which the acquisition of the missing
products is requested and in the same way the quantities of existing finished product are
verified.

Conclusion
 For an organization it is very important to have in detail the different processes and
procedures that are carried out, thereby helping those people or areas that intervene in
their realization to do so without mistakes and without delay.
 The flowcharts are a great tool to know in detail what to do and how the different
processes in companies or organizations.
