The term DRPC mentioned in this PTS refers to both Conventional DRPC and Hybrid

materials required for the complete installation of the PROJECT. The specifications
outlined herein shall be read in conjunction with the attached PROJECT drawings, the
COMPANY Material Standard Specifications and the associated International
Standards and Codes. The ratings and specific requirements of various electrical

a) The existing/new 132kV Circuit Breaker shall be verified / designed to withstand

b) 132kV GIS and all taps of CT and PT secondary winding shall be brought to an
easily accessible location such as a Local control Cubicle / Marshalling Kiosk.

6. 125V DC Auxiliary Power Supply

a. The 125V DC auxiliary power supply shall consist of two (2) 100% rated 125V
DC battery bank and two (2) battery chargers each rated 100% capacity (TES-
P-119.30).

b. The CONTRACTOR shall provide battery sizing calculations generally as per

8. LV Cable Terminations

a. Power cables shall be terminated in accordance with cable manufacturer’s


recommendations. Control wiring cable tails shall be bound in such a way that

each wire may be traced back to its associated cable. Core of multi-core or
multi-pair cables shall be grouped together. All spare cores shall be numbered

b. Cable glands shall be used at all equipment to support the weight of the cables.

c. All terminals shall be designed to receive (on either side) two (2) nos. of cable

9. Discharging Equipment

10. Lighting System and Socket Outlets

a) Lighting System

The CONTRACTOR shall extend the existing outdoor lighting system to cover
the DRPC and Capacitor bank installation. This shall include relocation of
existing lighting fixtures and addition of new fixtures and masts, if required.

b) Socket Outlets

The specifications outlined herein shall be read in conjunction with the attached
PROJECT drawings, the COMPANY Material Standard Specifications and the
associated International Standards and Codes as listed in section 3.14. The ratings

requirements stated in this specification. The type testing shall include a heat
run (temperature rise test) test on a single unit. The manufacturer shall submit
type test reports of similar transformers. Dielectric test shall be carried out as

The reactors shall comply with the COMPANY Standard 58-TMSS-02 and all
requirements stated in this specification. It is acceptable to use Aluminium
conductors for all air core reactors.

3. Capacitor Banks

Shunt capacitor / filter banks / TSCs shall be internally fused capacitor units
suitably connected in parallel and series groups. All capacitor banks should be
equipped with protective mesh to prevent entering of birds and cats. The
capacitor banks should be equipped with lifting device for easy replacement
work.

The capacitor/filter banks shall comply with the COMPANY Standard 43-TMSS-
01, and all the requirements stated in this specification.

The capacitors shall have temperature class -5D or better.

Resistors used for filters shall be of the dry type suitable for outdoor use.

It is required to oversize all filter resistors. The rating shall be sqrt(2) times the

5. Load Break Switches

6. Surge Arresters

The surge arresters supplied for the DRPC shall comply with the COMPANY
Standard 35-TMSS-01.

CERTIFIED Selection and sizing of the arresters for the DRPC installation shall be done
taking also into account future shunt capacitors to be located at DRPC
substation, overvoltage due to switching, ferroresonance, etc.

7. Current Transformers

indication, measurement and control purposes shall comply with the COMPANY

The MV bus electromagnetic voltage transformers should be 3-off-1 phase type

9. Disconnectors and Earth Switches


DESCRIPTION

Disconnectors and earth switches shall be required as shown on the Single Line
Drawing No. WT-924149. Disconnectors shall be motorized and earth switches
shall be manually operated. Disconnector and earth switches shall be
interlocked as mentioned in 30-TMSS-01.

The disconnectors and earth switches shall comply with 30-TMSS-01, and all the

10. Station Post Insulators and Insulation Levels

The outdoor station post insulators shall comply with 15-TMSS-01. In addition,

All interlocks between the MV Load Break Switches/ Circuit breakers / disconnectors
and MV earth switches shall be hard wired and supported by software interlocking.
The interlocks shall be such that when any of the MV earth switches are closed the
respective circuit breaker / disconnector shall not open or close by control from the
mechanism box (local) either electrically or mechanically or from the Mimic panel /
HMI or the COMPANY’s Network Control Centre (remote).

D. DRPC LBS/ES

When the LBS / Disconnector for TSC, VSC, Filters opens, the associated grounding
