Bedside Terminals
Bedside Terminals from Schrack Seconet, offering technical performance combined with high quality, simple
operation and impressive design.
Hospital bedside communication solutions are exposed to particularly high stresses. The often limited mobility
of users, hygiene requirements and daily hospital routine place strain upon the devices, meaning that specific raw
materials must be used for the various different fields of application.
The multimedia components have been developed from the daily life of a hospital over a long period of time and
take into account all medical and legal issues.
Anyone wanting to bring state-of-the-art technology to patients‘ bedsides has to have a particular mastery of one
discipline: simplification. Technology must be easy to use, operate reliably and be simple to maintain.
Products are therefore designed with all unnecessary elements removed and with the necessary elements made
simple. Our mission is to provide devices which do not require any explanation, are maintenance-free and can be
operated immediately by anyone.
One characteristic of these devices is that they don‘t look as simple as they are to use. Aesthetics and design form
part of functionality - and are therefore specially developed.

Functional description
The functionality of the terminals is oriented to developments in home entertainment, thus drawing on all the
possibilities offered by modern communications technology.
Depending on the model, they are designed for analogue reception, DVB-T and DVB-C up to full IP solutions
for TV, radio and internet.
There are ideal screen sizes for every viewing distance, enabling the optician-recommended distance of five times
the screen diagonal to be implemented. Schrack Seconet‘s multimedia terminals offer ideal solutions for the most
common viewing distances.

Functional description
To ensure that patients can still enjoy a relaxed TV experience even under restricted spatial circumstances without
care measures being affected, a variety of installation options are available: the terminals can be installed on either
flexible wall-mounted arms or a bedside table.
Connections for external devices (depending on model) using AV or USB ports for example DVD players, iPods,
games consoles, etc. and an integrated headphone socket go without saying.
Advanced connectivity is available in larger models, such as operation using a membrane keypad and/or
touchscreen and multiple menu languages. Easy operation is self-explanatory and is always paramount.

3 Software applications
3.1 MyMediNet Proxy (VM)
The MyMediNet Proxy (VM) software is needed for the central distribution of
configurations to the connected terminals (from 30 connected terminals).
The Proxy MyMediNet (VM) software implements the distribution of
configuration files to the connected terminals. This has the decisive advantage
that only one computer has to have directly access to the Internet. This reduces
the incoming traffic. The retrieval of files and the distribution to the connected
terminals is therefore faster.
The terminals get the updates from the proxy server and always five terminals
are updated simultaneously. Only when one of these terminals has been
updated succesfully another terminal starts the update process. This process
continues until all terminals have been updated and reported positive reports to
the proxy.
The MyMediNet Proxy (VM) software has it‘s own virtual operating system
based on a Linux operating system and can be installed on the most existing
operating systems.
