theoretical and conceptual framework, and statements of the problem,

hypothesis, assumptions, scope and limitation, and definition of terms.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE STUDY

A pandemic is a disease outbreak that spread across countries or

continents. It affects more people and takes more lives than epidemic. There

are more than 10 of the worst pandemic in History and one of the deadliest

pandemic of the modern age is Influenza or the H1N1 influenza known as the

Spanish flu. The estimates of mortality ranging from 17 million to 100 million

the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome corona virus2 (SARS - CoV2). The

novel virus was first identified in Wuhan China in December 2019. A lockdown

in Wuhan and other cities failed to contain the outbreak, and its spread

around the world. Since 2021, variants of the virus have emerged and

become dominant in many countries with the Delta, Alpha, and Beta variants

being the most virulent. As of 16 September 2021, more than 226 million

cases and 4.66 million deaths have been confirmed, making it one of the

deadliest pandemics in history.

According to World Health Organization (WHO) most people

infected with the virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and

recover without requiring special treatment. However, some will become

seriously ill and require medical attention. The virus can spread from an

infected persons mouth, or nose in small liquid particles when they cough,

sneeze, speak, sing or breath. There are many symptoms in this virus and the

most common are flu-like symptoms such as fever, dry cough, and shortness

of breath or difficulty breathing, loss of taste or smell, headache, and sore

throat. Symptoms typically appear within 2 days to 14 days after exposure.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19 we need to follow the Health

Protocols such as maintain a safe distance from others, wear face mask in
