I. Project Proposed:

Study of Customer Relationship Management and Sales of financial Products in IDBI

FORTIS LIFE INSURANCE CO. LTD.

II. Description of Project in brief:

Selling of the financial products of IDBI Fortis and Primary and secondary study of
customer Relationship Management to determine how IDBI Fortis improves its business
by managing Relationship with the customers. The overall goals are to find, attract, and
win new customers, nurture and retain those the company already has, entice former
customers back into the fold, and reduce the costs of marketing and customer service.
To know the mind set of the customer before taking insurance policy, which feature
they like the most and strengthen that feature to build strong relation with the
customer.

III. Objective of the Project:

To maintain Relationship of IDBI Fortis Life Insurance Co. Ltd. with the customers.

 To know about the strategy adopted by different companies which provide intangible
services and implementing that strategy in IDBI Fortis.
 Features which the people consider the most while taking any insurance policy and work
on to strengthen that feature.
 Segmenting the customers on the basis of their expectations.
 Positioning the customers.

IV. Methodology:

The current scenario in the insurance industry is a complex and competitive


environment tinged with little stability. The major hassle in this industry is obtaining
clients. This is due to the fact the big fish in the insurance industry dominates the sector.
It has been very difficult for the particular sector to gain profits while curtailing costs.
Acquisitions and mergers have all contributed to the difficulty that insurance agents and
other professionals from this industry face.

Data was collected basically from the questionnaire that was filled up by the customer
(B2C) and the employee of the targeted companies. The targeted companies are those
companies which provide intangible services to the customers.
 Sample size taken is 300 people for B2C questionnaire and 50 people for the
employees of the companies.
