REFLECTION NOTES
COT # 1

DATE: March 27, 2021

The first conducted Classroom Observation was successfully done through the help of
our school head, Sir Roberto B. Malazarte. Although I was nervous given the fact that Classroom
Observation had taken place in new methods of delivery of instruction, fortunately it was led
smoothly with the active participation of my colleagues. It was unusual in my part to teach or
deliver the lesson in front of my co-teachers instead of students, however it was fulfilling since
they played the role of students who are willing to unlearn and relearn new thing. At first, I was
afraid that I might get various criticism but I was delighted because they act as if they haven’t
learned the lesson that I taught to them during that day.
I was glad to know that this first demonstration teaching earned positive feedback from
my school head and mentor. Based on his Observation Notes Form he emphasized that my
lesson has well prepared lesson plan. In addition, there is ICT integration observed during the
discussion and higher order thinking skills was supported through giving guide questions. The
use also of unified language where the students will be learned most was also commendable.
These comments made me realize that teaching through hearts and mind are indeed essential.
Teaching and learning is not just about feeding the students of what you know as teacher,
teaching means learning in both parties and sharing common goods.
The positive feedback also of my School Head helps me to become much motivated in
the next Classroom Observation to not just met but also exceeds his expectations. I realized my
strengths and weaknesses in the field of teaching which I am fortunate because I was given
chance to become better in the next demonstration teaching. I am also challenged making and
delivering the lesson in new methods because of the pandemic. Hence, I can say that even
there is abrupt changes in the usual teaching and learning process, teacher like me should
become resilient and dynamic so that there is always continuous students learning.
