EXPERIENCE (PARTIAL LIST)

SERVER, JAMES BEACH/CANAL CLUB, VENICE, CA — JUNE 2008 - FEBRUARY 2010
Moved to this sister restaurant from Danny’s after one year. Provided excellent service at a Venice restaurant
landmark. This establishment has been at this location for nearly twenty years. I loved working at a place where
regulars were the primary source of business. I even threw my last birthday party at one of the regulars’ homes
on the beach! Retained a mental catalogue of names, likes, dislikes, and dining habits of my guests.

SERVER, DANNY’S VENICE, VENICE, CA — MAY 2007 - AUGUST 2008

Started working for this sister restaurant before being moved to Canal Club. Given part-time managerial duties
and responsibilities after three months while still working as a server for the restaurant. Provided top service at a
location that one could describe as ‘pure madness’ during the summer months. Routinely sold upwards of
$2,000 in daily sales during the summer months. Accountable for collecting all monies owed to the accounts
receivable on a daily basis during my managerial stint, and for securing the premises at closing.

SERVER, LE MARMITON, MARINA DEL REY, CA — MAY 2006 - AUGUST 2006

Played a key role in opening up this outdoor/indoor French Bistro in a busy location on the bay. Gained valuable
experience in French wines, cuisine, and culture. Offered to stay at this location much longer, but was forced to
quit due to scheduling conflicts.

ACTOR, THE GETTY VILLA, PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — JULY 2006 - OCTOBER 2006
Elected to be the union deputy among the acting company’s Equity members. As union deputy I acted as the
‘voice’ for the company of actors, the liaison between the union and the company. I was responsible that all ar-
eas of production were carried out within the rights and regulations for the actors, as decided upon by the union.
I was required to fill out and send to the union weekly reports addressing any concerns, violations, or safety is-
sues not adhered to by production.

ACTING INSTRUCTOR, DEPARTMENT OF THEATER, UCLA, CA — OCTOBER 2004 - JUNE 2005

Taught an introduction to acting course for UCLA undergraduate students, all of who were non-majors. Respon-
sible for maintaining a high level of integrity within the classroom. Responsible for creating a fun, open-minded
environment where students felt the freedom to express and share. Handled a class size of 20 students without
supervision. Responsible for creating lesson plans, exercises, grading criteria, syllabus’, and final grading.

SERVER, W HOTEL, BLUE FIN SUSHI, TIMES SQUARE, N.Y.C. — NOVEMBER 2001 - JULY 2003
I call this place ‘waiter boot camp.‘ This was one of the most intensive places I have ever worked. An extremely
busy, fine-dining, 400 seat, two story seafood palace in the middle of Manhattan. Responsible for learning and
memorizing nightly specials (appetizer, entree, soup, desert, oysters, sushi). Attended weekly wine classes and
learned and sold from an extensive international wine list. Consistently received high marks from ‘secret shop-
pers’ who were hired by the company to evaluate all levels of service in their dining experience.
COPY DESK ASSISTANT, THE WALL STREET JOURNAL, NYC, NY — JANUARY 2001 - JUNE 2001
