How do fractions and ratios end up in your everyday lives? Why are they used so
frequently?

The link to the following article talks about what goes into the Youtube Algorithm and its
effects on content creation. It also breaks down the different factors that go into the algorithm.
After reading the article I want you to answer the questions below with one to two paragraphs
each. Each answer should explain the Mathematical Thoughts behind it. You DO NOT have
to try and break down the entire algorithm. You SHOULD however use examples from any
videos you may watch yourselves.

1. Why are certain aspects of the Youtube Agorithm mathematically unfair? What are

2. Of the known information the Youtube Algorithm uses, which may pertain to
fractions? What are they taking the fraction of? (5 Points)

3. What ratio can you think of that can be applied to the Youtube Algorithm and how
would it be used? (5 points)

4. As budding Mathematicians what would you change to make the algorithm fair? (5
points)
