Although @ booster group could not exist without the schcol, the school or District does not have direct oversight or authority over a booster group, particularly as it relates to its leadership, organization, finances, etc. With that said, the District is obligated to protect itself and its interests from the perception that it endorses certain practices or viewpoints, particularly those that do not necessarily reflect the views or practices of the District. Therefore, with regard to your organization’s recent intention to conduct a Super Raffle, 1 respectfully request that your organization and any associated individuals ensure there is no real or perceived notion that this is a school-sponsored or District “approved” fundraiser.
