GOD

We believe in one true and living God who is love. He created all things. He is all glorious,
and infinitely perfect. He is Eternal, without beginning or end. One God in three persons—
Father, Son and Holy Spirit—each uniquely distinct yet equally divine. God is joyful, doing
all things for his pleasure and glory. He is sovereign in all things and entirely worthy of all
worship, honour and praise.

THE BIBLE
We believe that the Bible (the 66 Books of the Old and New Testaments) is the true, verbally
inspired, infallible word of God. It is without error in the original manuscripts. It is God’s
revelation of himself to humanity, our final authority and is sufficient for believers to live a
life worthy of their calling. The Bible is centred on the person of Jesus—he is the hero of
every page.

PEOPLE
We believe that people are created in the image of God with unique dignity, worth and
purpose. People are created as male and female—equal in worth, yet distinct in role. By
nature and choice all people are universally sinful (with the exception of Jesus), totally
depraved and utterly incapable of saving themselves. Outside of Christ, everyone is deserving
of the wrath and judgment of God.

JESUS
We believe that Jesus is eternally begotten of the Father, God incarnate, born of the virgin
Mary. He is both fully God and fully man at the same time. Jesus is the only person who has
ever lived a sinless, perfect life. He offered the one effective sacrifice for sin at the cross, rose
again physically from the dead, and ascended to the right hand of the Father where he rules
and reigns.

SALVATION
We believe that men and women are justified by the grace of God received by faith alone in
Jesus. The Holy Spirit regenerates dead hearts and awakens people to their need for salvation.
The order of salvation is election, calling, regeneration, conversion, justification, adoption,
sanctification, perseverance and glorification. The heart of salvation is the penal
substitutionary death of Jesus on behalf of sinners. Salvation is found in no other name but the
name of Jesus.

HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Spirit is a He, not an impersonal force. He empowers the church for mission.
He convicts people of sin, righteousness, and judgment. The fruit of the Spirit is the chief
evidence for the reception of the Spirit. He works in people to transform them into the
likeness of Christ. Along with the Father and Son, he gives gifts to people for the building up
of the church. The gifts mentioned in Scripture (including those miraculous gifts) are
available and to be pursued. All believers ought to live in daily dependence on the Spirit’s
power.
CHURCH
We believe that the church is the community of all true believers, gathered for God by His
Word and Spirit. The church exists to bring glory to God by fulfilling the Great Commission.
The local gathering exercises the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord Supper. Jesus is the
senior pastor of the church. A local gathering is lead by a plurality of male elders under the
authority of Jesus. The church is to exercise discipline for the sake of its purity and witness.

THE FUTURE
We believe that at a time appointed by God, Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead
with justice and truth. Heaven and Hell are real places, and all humanity will find their eternal
destiny in one or the other. A person’s eternal resting place is dependent on their faith
response to Jesus.

OUR THEOLOGY
The Gospel
The gospel is the good news that through Christ the power of God's kingdom has entered
history to renew the whole world. When we believe and rely on Jesus' work and record (rather
than ours) for our relationship to God, that kingdom power comes upon us and begins to work
through us.

We believe the gospel is the good news of what God has graciously accomplished for sinners
through the sinless life, sacrificial death, and bodily resurrection of his Son, our Savior, Jesus
Christ, namely our forgiveness from sin and complete justification before God; this gospel is
also the foundation for our confidence in the ultimate triumph of God’s kingdom, and the
consummation of his purpose for all creation in the new heavens and new earth. This gospel is
centered in Christ, is the foundation for the life of the Church, and is our only hope for eternal
life; this gospel hinges on Christ’s penal substitutionary death and bodily resurrection are
central to our message.

We hold Gospel centrality in all of life as a core conviction. The gospel changes people from
the inside out. Christ gives us a radically new identity, freeing us from both self-righteousness
and self-condemnation. He liberates us to accept people we once excluded and to break the
bondage of things (even good things) that once drove us. In particular, the gospel makes us
welcoming and respectful toward those who do not share our beliefs.

The salvation offered in this gospel message is received by grace alone, through faith alone, in
Christ alone; no ordinance, ritual, work, or any other activity on the part of man is required in
order to be saved.

The Trinity
We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons, that these
are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in
the work of creation, providence and redemption.

We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power
and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of all people, that He
hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through
Jesus Christ.

We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We
believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His
substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, continuing
intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth.

We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world
of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to give new spiritual life, sanctify, and empower all
who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ,
and that He is an abiding helper, teacher and guide. We hold the work of the Holy Spirit as a
necessity for all of life and ministry.

The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original
manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority
in all matters of faith and conduct. History, science, and God's ability to speak through our
experiences all align and weave themselves into a tapestry of truth with scripture.

The Church
We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving
the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. Jesus made it clear that the church is a new
community, and he placed himself at the center of that community. Jesus defined church in
relation to himself, as his body. It was built, not of bricks and mortar, but of the Spirit and the
fellowship of the saints. In the early church, there is no mention of buildings. Rather,
believers worshiped wherever they were—in the temple, at home, by the riverside, in the
marketplace. The only thing that mattered was a focus on Christ and the vitality of the Body
of believers.

Ephesians 2:19-20; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 5:19-21; Acts 2:42; Hebrews 10:23-25

We live by our convictions, the core values that make us who we are. The Bible is our guide
to life, not only because it is good, but because it is true.
1. There is one God: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit
2. In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God; we believe in His virgin
birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His victorious and atoning death, in His
bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His constant
intercession and in His imminent return
3. In the person and work of the Holy Spirit with His fruits and gifts available in the
Church.
4. The Bible is the living word of God. It is infallible, authoritative and everlasting and
is the foundation of all Christian doctrine.
5. In the existence of an evil spiritual being known as the devil.
6. In the spiritually lost condition of all people and the essential need for the new
birth by faith in Jesus Christ.
7. In the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a gift available to believers subsequent to the
new birth, with normal evidence of speaking in other tongues
8. In the sacraments of the Lords Supper and baptism by full immersion in water
for all believers.
9. In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the
other to everlasting separation from God.
10. In the church being the body of Christ, and each member being an active part of a
local church, fulfilling the Great Commission.
11. Marriage was instituted by God, ratified by Jesus, and is exclusively between a
man and a woman. It is a picture of Christ and his church.
12. Sex is a gift from God for procreation and unity, and it is only appropriate within
and designed for marriage
