CHAPTER 2

LITERATURE REVIEW

2.1 INTRODUCTION

“A literature review is a piece of academic writing demonstrating knowledge and understanding

of the academic literature on a specific topic placed in context.” – The University of Edinburgh,

2021. This chapter will include the review of academic materials such as articles and journals of

previous research works done on recommender systems and similar to ours. By judiciously

reviewing the materials, the outstanding methods used to address certain problems would be

highlighted as well as gaps found in the materials.
