Contemporary Philippine Arts
Architecture
1. Architecture is a creative
and imaginative art of
different designs. It’s related
of making places for the
people.
2. There are two parts of
architectural design, this are
the needed parts of design
in architectural such as the
INTERIOR DESIGN that
refers to interior design of
the structure. And
EXTERIOR DESIGN that
refers to the external design
or the outside design of a
building.
3. There types of architectural
to identify the building/
structure which belong is
this. It has six types, these
are domestic architecture,
religious and sacred
architecture, government
and state architecture,
recreational architecture,
welfare and educational
buildings, and commercial
and industrial architecture.
Every type of architectural
has appropriate building
type.
Theater and
Performance
1. Theatre and performance of
contemporary Philippines
is about interpreting the
story through performing it
in theatre to express the
story they want to tell. It
composed of different
genre or kind of story they
want to tell.
2. This interpretation is
common to day-to-day
happening transformed
through movement, sound,
words, and visual
representations of the
contemporary environment.
These are improvisation
developed from different
poetry.
3. In the Philippines, many
universities created their
theater groups that
experimented. some of
these universities are the
UP, Ateneo, De La Salle.
Dance
1. The contemporary dance
was appeared in the
continent of Europe and
the U.S. towards the turn
of the century. The
contemporary dance in the
Philippines introduced by
the Spaniards during they
conquered the Philippines
back then.
2. During the
Spaniards the dance was
for social occasions only.
One of the occasions was
tertulias or formal parties.
Rigodon de honor (it is a
traditional formal dance)
and lanceros were the
dances performed that time
during the formal parties.
3. Today
contemporary dance was
evolved by the new
generations. They mixing
new invented movements
and the traditional filipino
movements. One of the of
this is the dance step that
we can see on tiktok.
