Fixed Facilities

AIRPORTS

Ninoy Aquino International Airport

Airports are considered fixed facilities because they constitute the network of links. An airport consists of
a landing area which comprises an aerially accessible open space including at least one operationally active surface
such as a runway for a plane to take off and to land or a helipad, and often includes adjacent utility buildings such as
control towers, hangars and terminals. Ninoy Aquino International Airport or NAIA is also known as Manila International
Airport or simply Manila Airport. It is one of the two international airports serving the Metro Manila Area and the main
international gateway to the Philippines. NAIA is located along the border between Pasay and Parañaque cities in
Metro Manila, about 7 km south of the city and southwest of Makati Central Business District.

RAILWAYS

Light Rail Transit – 1 (LRT-1)

The Light Rail Transit System Line No. 1 consists of the elevated railway system servicing the Taft Avenue –
Rizal Avenue route between Baclaran, Pasay City and the Bonifacio Monument in the City of Caloocan. And this makes
it a fixed facility. It is considered to be the first LRT system in Southeast Asia. Currently, the line consists of 20 stations
and runs on 19.65 kilometers (12.21 mi) of fully elevated route.
HARBORS

Port of Cebu
Port of Cebu is a seaport located in Cebu City, Philippines. It is the port that serves the Metro Cebu Area and it
is managed by the Cebu Port Authority. It is the largest domestic port in the Philippines, mostly serving routes in
the Visayas and Mindanao. The harbor consists of international and domestic sections. The Cebu International Port
covers an area of 14 hectares, consisting of 512 meters of berthing space, with 1,953 TEU ground slots and
204 refrigerated container plugs, as well as a bulk handling terminal.

ROADWAYS

North Luzon Expressway

The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), formerly known as the North Diversion Road and Manila North
Expressway (MNEX), is an 84-kilometer (52 mi) four-to-eight lane limited-access toll expressway that connects Metro
Manila to the provinces of the Central Luzon region in the Philippines. Built in the 1960s, it forms part of Expressway
1 (E1) of the Philippine expressway network and Radial Road 8 (R-8) of Metro Manila's arterial road network.
INTERSECTIONS

Nichols Interchange

The Sales Interchange also known as the Nichols Interchange, is a hybrid interchange at the boundary

of Pasay and Taguig in Metro Manila, the Philippines. It is composed of a lower partial cloverleaf interchange serving
as the junction between the South Luzon Expressway, Sales Road, Lawton Avenue, West Service Road and East
Service Road and an upper Directional T serving as the junction between the Skyway and the NAIA Expressway.

Flow Entities
AIRCRAFTS

Cebu Pacific Aircraft

Airplane, also called aeroplane or plane, any of a class of fixed-wing aircraft that is heavier than air,

propelled by a screw propeller or a high-velocity jet, and supported by the dynamic reaction of the air against its
wings. The essential components of an airplane are a wing system to sustain it in flight, tail surfaces to stabilize the
wings, movable surfaces to control the attitude of the plane in flight, and a power plant to provide the thrust
necessary to push the vehicle through the air.
VEHICLES

Vehicles around EDSA

A vehicle is a machine that transports people or cargo. Vehicles include like ships and boats, amphibious

vehicles such as screw-propelled vehicle and hovercraft, aircrafts like airplanes and helicopters and spacecraft. Land
vehicles are classified broadly by what is used to apply steering and drive forces against the
ground: wheeled, tracked, railed or skied.

RAILROAD CARS

Railroad car in LRT 1

A railroad car, railcar, is a vehicle used for the carrying of cargo or passengers on a rail transport

system which is a railroad or railway. Such cars, when coupled together and hauled by one or more locomotives, form
a train. Alternatively, some passenger cars are self-propelled in which case they may be either single railcars or make
up multiple units.
BICYCLES

A bicycle, also called a bike or cycle, is a human-powered or motor-powered, pedal-driven, single-track

vehicle, having two wheels attached to a frame, one behind the other. A bicycle rider is called a cyclist, or bicyclist.
These numbers far exceed the number of cars, both in total and ranked by the number of individual models
produced. They are the principal means of transportation in many regions. They also provide a popular form
of recreation, and have been adapted for use as children's toys, general fitness, military and police
applications, courier services, bicycle racing, and bicycle stunts.

VESSELS

Vessel “Gabriela Silang”

Water vessels are vehicles used in water, including boats, ships, hovercraft and submarines. Watercraft

usually have a propulsive capability whether by sail, oar, paddle or engine and hence are distinct from a simple
device that merely floats, such as a log raft. French shipbuilder OCEA has delivered a new aluminium-hulled offshore
patrol vessel (OPV) to the Philippine Coast Guard. The newbuild has been christened BRP Gabriela Silang after a
famed leader of numerous armed uprisings against Spanish colonisers in the northern Philippines in the mid-1700s,
thus leading to her being dubbed by some contemporary historians as the “Joan of Arc of the Ilocos Region.”
