Answer the following Activity :

A. Choose one from the listed concepts below that adequately complete the meaning of each of
the following phrases: (Every correct answer in every number shall be 2 points or a total of 10
points)

Concepts
- Radical Dualism - Materialist Monism

- Moderate Dualism - Christian Doctrine

- Idealist Monism - New Monism

1. Human person, a
composite of body and soul is a disclosure of RADICAL DUALISM.
2. IDEALIST MONISM holds that the human person is only soul while MATERIALIST
MONISM he/she is only a body.
3. MODERATE DUALISM gives the soul more value at the expense of the body.
4. CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE is a belief in the tripartite being of the human person, body,
soul and spirit.
5. Seeing the human person as creature of God and part of nature is CHRISTIAN
DOCTRINE.

B. Modified true or false. Determine the truth or falsity of the following statements or premises.
In either case modify your answer by giving reason to justify it. (You shall be given points as
based on rubrics given. Remember the grammar and line of reasoning in logic – premises to
conclusion shall be taken great consideration in giving of points) (5 points per every number or
a total of 15 points)

Write before the number, TRUE if the statement is Correct, and FALSE if the statement is
wrong. Then right your reason in the space as provided.

Reason: The statement is obviously FALSE. Human body is NOT IMMORTAL, and
it is evident when an individual meets a disastrous accident. No expert could extend the
life of a human body if it’s terribly damage.

FALSE 2. The spirit or soul is corruptible.

Reason: Human body is corruptible, but Spirit or Soul is NOT. Soul will not decay
and is not tangible. Unlike human body, soul is only feed through prayers.

TRUE 3. The human body in Filipino philosophy is holistic.

Reason: In Filipino philosophy, human body is one or a whole which is a bigger

umbrella and is inseparable with the soul or spirit. It won’t be part of something, rather a
whole.

ASSESSMENT/S

1. Make a Personal Reflection Paper as based on the subject matter given with the topic:
MY BODY. The short reflection paper shall have not less than 5 paragraphs, with not
less than three (3) sentences for each paragraph. Nota Bienne : Copying other’s work
or using the method on cut and paste in any web posts/narratives, still falls on the crime
of Plagiarism which carries serious offense not only in MOIST Student’s handbook but
as well as Philippine copyright laws. Please be aware.

MY BODY

The life or the body we have right now is just borrowed. All things we are currently experiencing
will be a memory of tomorrow. Everything will just pass by.

In my own point of view, since this borrowed body isn’t permanent, let’s make use of it to the
fullest. Not to the extent that we’re going to use it illegally but to the benefit of everybody.
Something that everyone could be happy.

Human body is evident to be destructible. One day, you’re still whole; the next day, not anymore
but a dust. Sadly, no skilled human could change the fate.

Letting us borrow this life is an opportunity. And allowing us to live longer is a bonus. It might
sound like a joke, but “use life carefully so it would longer last”.

Indeed, our body is our treasure. If we won’t take good care of it, then it won’t give you good
result in return. Make use of it nicely; sow good deeds today and our children will reap good
harvest tomorrow.
