9cm / 3/12 inches across

Redheart super saver worsted medium weight yarn in spring green
I used less than half of a 7 oz/200gm skein
4mm/G hook
Scissors
Yarn needle
 I joined at the end of the rounds, you can use the spiral method if you prefer

Magic ring or chain 4 and join
Round 1 - Work over your tail if you used the chain 4 and join method, 10 single crochets into the centre of
the ring, join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet
Round 2 - Chain 1, single crochet into the same stitch, single crochet into every stitch around, join with a
slip stitch to the first single crochet

Round 3-13 Repeat round 2 for 11 rows or for the length you would like your stem

Round 14 - Chain 1, 2 single crochet into the same stitch, 2 single crochet into each stitch around, join with
a slip stitch to the first single crochet

Round 15 - Chain 1, single crochet into the same stitch, 2 single crochet into the next stitch, *single crochet
into the next stitch, 2 single crochet into the next stitch * repeat from * to * join with a slip stitch to the
first single crochet

Round 16 -Chain 1, single crochet into the same stitch, single crochet into the next stitch, 2 single crochet
into the next *single crochet into the next 2 stitches, 2 single crochet into the next* repeat from * to * join
with a slip stitch to the first single crochet

Round 17 -Chain 1, single crochet into the same stitch, single crochet into the next 2 stitches *single
crochet into the next 3 stitches, 2 single crochet into the next* repeat from * to * join with a slip stitch to
the first single crochet

Round 18 - Chain 1, single crochet into the same stitch, single crochet into each stitch, join with a slip stitch
to the first single crochet, finish off leaving a 12 inch/30 cm tail

Leaf (make 2)
Round 1 - Chain 10, slip stitch into 2nd chain, working 1 stitch into each chain -single crochet, half double
crochet, double crochet, double crochet, double crochet, treble, double crochet, half double crochet, 5 half
double crochet, into the last stitch
Round 2 - Working into the other side of the chain, half double crochet, double crochet ,treble, double
crochet, double crochet, half double crochet, single crochet, slip stitch into the last stitch
Finish off, leave a 15cm/6 inch tail for attaching your leaf
Using photo as a guide sew your leaves to the base of the stem
Place your pumpkin top on the top of your hat, make sure it is in the centre and stitch around
Sew in any loose ends
