ABSTRACT

“The preservation of Kahalawan Te Sebseb (Festival of Springs)” in Maramag,

Bukidnon.”

This research centered on the festival in Maramag, Bukidnon: Kahalawan Te Sebseb

(Festival of Springs), which have been instrumental in the development and prosperity of the

municipality as they attract the tourist and generate income in both for festival-related

businesses and the surrounding tourist attraction/sites as festivals offer. This paper seeks to

know about the festival and how they preserve it.

This study used the qualitative method of research and is based on cased studies. . The

researcher conducted an interview and gather data from the staff of Maramag Tourism Office.

There are three major problems were discussed in the analysis of this festival which are:

When did the Kahalawan Te Sebseb (Festival of Springs) started? ; How does the people of

Maramag celebrate The Festival of Springs? ; How does the people of Maramag preserve the

celebration of The Festival of Springs? These analysis help us to conclude the success of the

event. This research has found the historical view, how they preserve and celebrate the

Festival of Springs.
