The value of the promotion of the common good can be seen clearly

through the story of Benigno Beltran entitled “a Chinese legend”. In this

story, the bamboo was the one who portrayed the value the most
because it gave away his beautiful growth for its master to use its
purpose. The bamboo allowed his master to cut and cleave for the
sake of the other part of the garden to be prosperous in growth and in
abundance. The story of the giving tree by Fr. Benigno Beltran
emphasizes the importance of the value of concern of the environment
through the acts of the boy and the tree. The tree showed so much love
to the boy that anything that he needs the tree gives a part of its own. It
justifies that we, as benefactors of nature, should not abuse the
kindness of nature towards us. We should know our responsibilities
towards nature and how we should treat nature as a part of our life.
And in return, nature would provide us with our needs at the right
amount.

sinacrifice niya ang kanyang trabaho para lang matulungan kami noong
kami ay maliliit pa, siguro kung hindi niya ito ginawa saamin at kami ay
papabayaan niya lamang ay sigurado akong wala sa aming isip ang
pag-aaral, kaya thanks God na kami ay hindi pinabayaan ng aming
inay at eto na kami ngayon may isana nanakapagtapos sa aming
pamilya. dahil kung hindi niya ito ginawa saamin siguro
