Health is the Greatest Gift You Can Give Yourself

Health is the most precious possession we can ever have. I’m not just talking about physical health, but
overall health including mental, spiritual, and even financial health. All of these contribute to our overall
well-being, so we shall approach “health” as a whole, rather than as a series of separate factors. It’s
because all types of health are linked, and we should aim for overall well-being and balance as the keys
to good health.

We can give ourselves good physical health by doing regular exercise, having a balanced nutrition, and
giving yourself enough rest. We must pursue a healthy lifestyle to lower the risk of having a disease.
Mental health is as important as physical health. It refers to our emotional, social, and psychological
well-being. Having good mental health is not just about not having depression, anxiety, and other
disorders. It’s also about our ability to enjoy life, feel safe and secure, bounce back from difficult
experiences, achieve our full potentials, as well as to balance different elements of our lives.

The best way to maintain health is to preserve it through a healthful lifestyle rather than waiting for
sickness to come first before addressing health problems. It may not be possible to avoid disease
forever, but we can do so much for us to develop resilience and prepare our minds and bodies to deal
with illnesses as they arise.

In this time of pandemic, good health seems to be the most important thing to have. Having good
physical health, as well as having good spiritual health is what we really need. We need to maintain not
only our physically fit bodies, but we also need to maintain or build a great relationship with the Lord as
one realization I come up with was that the Lord is all we need for us to have a good life. Knowing that
the Lord is with you makes you confident to face the virus we are dealing with today. Having a good
spiritual health makes us feel a sense of calm and purpose that fuels good mental health. A healthful
lifestyle provides the means to lead a full life with meaning and purpose.
