Tues 14. 2. 17
Fri 17. 2. 17
Lecturer: FB: Francis Braganza fbraganza@lsbf.org.uk
Please watch the following in the pre-recorded video library & study the
Class Notes for
 Introduction to F7 Syllabus & Examination Paper Structure
 All major Questions & Home Work Examples (answers fully explained,
step-by-step)
 Carefully study Chapters 15 & 20 for Homework
 Obscure points in Syllabus that the 60 mark MCQs examine – you can
leave nothing out in the new-style F7 Exam Paper

Please make sure you attempt the Mock Exams (Tuition / Progress; and
Revision Mock) – most students’ FIRST attempt at a full F7 Exam is in the
exam itself when it is too late, whereas they could have learned so much
about time-keeping, strategy, separation of Workings from main Answer
for the Big questions, how few workings to do for MCQs (& practising
making educated guesses under time-pressure), which questions to do
first, etc by doing the Mocks and getting detailed feedback from the
lecturer. Don’t wait to be fully prepared before you do the Mocks….

Warning: This paper has a huge but easy Syllabus and consistent study is the key
to passing. It has been recently expanded, with effect from Sept 2016 – see Class
Notes Supplementary Pack. The course is designed to back-up your homestudy
for the examination, not be your sole preparation! You will need to do
considerable amounts of private study as well in order to pass this demanding
paper (although more recent pass rates have been better [eg Sept 2016: 48%
worldwide] in June 2010 the pass rate was 28%, i.e 72% failed). Please carefully
study the Class Notes, rework all main classwork Qs and complete the many
homework assignments, well in advance of Revision.

If you have any problems whatsoever please do not hesitate to e-mail me as

soon as you can (fbraganza@lsbf.org.uk)
Please do Exam Revision Kit questions as indicated in this Studyplanner, don’t do
others until the teaching course is complete, as most F7 questions are on mixed
(often later) topics – also, almost all of the examples in the Class Notes ARE past-
exam questions, updated. The purpose of the Revision Course is to do these
mixed questions from the Revision Kit.

Revision Course attendance:

The overwhelming evidence is that students who do not attend the

Revision Course find it much more difficult to pass because that is when we
APPLY knowledge (gained on the tuition course) to tackle exam questions
which are often on mixed topics. Even if you fall behind in your studies on
the tuition phase, come to the Revision Course because all the main topics
will be explained while tackling exam questions targeting the coming exam.
We will do more in class than you could do on your own, explaining how to
maximise marks, exam techniques, what the markers are looking for, etc.
The feedback from students attending is that they had not realised what a
step-up from Tuition the Revision Course is.
