Experimental Statistics: Principles of Experimental Designs, Correlation and Regression

Course Objectives: At the end of the course, the students must be able to

1. To identify the various types of experimental designs, their uses and limitations
2. To apply the common principles of experimental design of randomization, replication and
local control of minimizing errors
3. To layout experiments of the different experimental designs and prepare dummy tables
for analysis and discussion
4. To compute for the analysis of variance for the different designs following the steps of
hypothesis/statistical testing
5. To apply the different methods of making comparison between treatments in the absence or
presence of significant difference
6. To predict trends and relate variables using correlation and regression
7. To apply statistics in scientific research
