Proposal

The two productions I have chosen to do are Short film & Music video that will evoke nostalgia and
spark their interest with a crime drama short film.
 
The reason for me picking this topic is because I am very interested in learning about the older
generation and find out was it is suitable for my target audience as they are (40-60yr). This
production will help me develop my skills further as I will have to follow different codes and
conventions and use specific interviewing styles that I haven’t done before. The skills I will learning
doing this production will help build my confidence which will put me in a better position for this
year, when we’re given our final production to do. I will also gain editing skills from doing a short film
as I will have to do multi camera editing and I will have a lot of footage to work from that will all
need to link together. I will also be adding music and stock footage which will be challenging to get
right but by doing this I will gain editing skills. This production will also develop my research skills as I
will need use a range of different research methods as there is a lot I will need to do for this
production.
 
I want to know find out what the older generation views on crime dramas and The Spice girls were
on the movement and has anything really changed over the years or are we still fighting for the same
things?
 
I will be asking peers on their thoughts on my work and use that feedback to develop my production.
I’m also going to look back at previous work I have produced to remind me of skills I have already
used before and how I can improve then. I will weekly blog to document my process while making
the factual programme and I will use it to help me evaluated.
