4.2.1. Who is Jesus Christ?

I. THE IMPACT OF JESUS ON MAN’S SALVIFIC HISTORY

A. His coming was a promise made by God. Genesis 3: 15

B. The fulfillment of that promise is Jesus Christ. Matthew 2: 20-21
C. His death was the goal and fulfillment of his life. Matthew 27: 45-50
D. His resurrection is the promise of eternal life. Matthew 28: 5-6
E. Jesus is a historical figure who should have faded into oblivion, but has become the most well-
known and loved figure in history.

II. WHAT DID JESUS SAY ABOUT HIMSELF?

A. He claims to be God. John 8: 51-58

B. He has all authority in heaven and on earth. Matthew 28:18
C. He raises the dead and gives life. John 5: 21-23
D. He heals the sick and forgives sins. Mark 2: 8-12
E. He has control of the elements. Mark 4: 37-39
F. He is to judge man. Matthew 25: 31-45

III. OUR RESPONSE

A. We must decide whether indeed He is God and all that He said about himself is true, or He is a
liar or a lunatic.
B. If indeed He is God, what are we going to do about it?
C. Are we to continue the life we are leading or open ourselves to His invitation to a personal
relationship?
D. Yes, Jesus is God; yes, I will change and accept His offer of a personal relationship with Him.
