Upward Bound Trio

Minneapolis, Minnesota
___

By Caleb Brown

INTRODUCTION:

Hello, My name is Caleb Brown and I am going to talk about the “Upward Bound

Trio” Minnesota, Minneapolis trip. I would like to start with why I wanted to attend the

trip. To be frank, I wanted to attend the trip to learn more about other colleges and

expand my knowledge. I realise that my initial goal to go to Michigan State University

clashes with my plan to move out of Michigan and go to school out of state. I would

benefit and gain a great deal of knowledge by attending the trip. Through the college

and university tours I will have an opportunity to view the campuses which will allow

me to see the college buildings and explore the cities. So the main reason for me wanting

to go on this college trip is for the experience.

Fun places and other activities:

While on the college trip we could visit other places besides colleges. We could

always look at other places around the college and in the city. For instance, we could go

to the Mall of America. Not only is the Mall of America great for shopping, it has nearly

everything for everyone. The mall consists of an amusement park and shopping areas.

You could bring anyone including your parents, children or your friends' crazy uncle.

There is no age limit anyone can enjoy this place. The Mall of America is stationed at

60 E Broadway, Bloomington, MN 55425. Now even though Mall of America sounds

amazing it isn’t the only place you can visit.

There is an amazing place you could visit, a throwback for the oldies. and the old

souls you’re traveling with. On the trip you could go to Paisley Park. Fans and super

fans have a chance to experience first hand what it was like for Prince to create, produce

and perform inside this private studio and production complex. Paisley Park is located

at 7801 Audubon Rd, Chanhassen, MN 55317. Now while this all seems quite amazing

it isn't free. So it is about time we talk about money. The cost to enter Paisley Park is

$38.50, with service fees it is a total of $45.00 per person. The admission fee to the

amusement park in Mall of America is $36.99 per person. The entry fee for the

Aquarium in the mall is $12.48 for kids ages 2-13 and $18.95 for people 13+.

The final thing that needs to be addressed is the lodging where we could stay while we

are on our trip. The hotel we could stay in for the time being could be in Holiday Inn

Express Hotel & Suites Downtown Minneapolis. Considering the rooms are $269 per

night for a double queen room. For about 40 people in the group, and calculating the

price for 10 rooms, the estimated amount for everyone to stay would be about $2,690.

The hotel is located at 225 S. 11th st, Minneapolis, MN 55403 US.

Since the Holiday Inn provides a continetal breakfast. The upward bound trio

staff could offer an option to go to McDonalds for lunch. I have estimated that the cost

for lunch at McDonalds for everyone would average up to $400 due to the fact that 40

people are going on the trip, and let's say the average person paid $10 per meal. Last

year we used the MCC tour bus for trasnportation and I was thinking we could do that

again. I am uncertain as to how much a coach or a coach bus would cost but I thought it

was effective last time and I was thinking we could do it again. I estimate the cost for

use of the coach bus as $120 a person and x 40 people that is $4,800 I am estimte the

total cost of this trip to average around $16,727.

Two Colleges to visit:

As for the main event of the tour I feel like we should go to North Central University for

a college tour. The other college we could visit for a tour could be the University of

Minnesota; the addresses for the two colleges are 100 Church St SE, Minneapolis, MN

55455(University of Minnesota) and 910 Elliot Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55404(North

Central University).
