GRASPS FOR PERFORMANCE TASK #1
WRITING SPEECH CHOIR PIECE

GOAL:
Your goal is to construct a 4-stanza poem with 5 lines each stanza. The language to be
used is Tagalog to support the “Buwan ng Wika” celebration of the country. The theme to be
used is “Promoting Tourism in the Philippines”. You need to apply the various elements,
techniques and literary devices in writing a poem. The piece must be submitted in hard copy for
checking on July 20 and soft copy via e-mail for documentation purposes on July 27. It must be
checked by the teachers of both Creative Writing and Filipino subjects.

ROLE:
You are students who are appreciative of the language being used and are very proud of
the country.

AUDIENCE:
You need to convince your local tourist office, school, teachers and other students.

SITUATION:
The challenge involves dealing with creativity upon your piece, integration of elements in
poetry, skills in speech choir and dealing with group mates.

PRODUCT, PERFORMANCE, and PURPOSE:


You will create a poem intended for speech choir. The purpose is to attain the learning
competency in which to apply various elements, techniques and literary devices used in Poetry.
Moreover, it is to support the said celebration and to promote local tourism in the Philippines.

SPEECH CHOIR
GOAL:
Your goal is to perform the piece constructed in Performance Task #1. It must be in the
Filipino language. The theme is “Promoting Tourism in the Philippines”. The group
composed on minimum of 15 members must apply various elements in performing speech choir
on August 9, 2018 at the University Gazebo.

ROLE:
You are students who are appreciative of the language being used and are very proud of
the country.

AUDIENCE:
You need to convince your local tourist office, school, teachers and other students.

SITUATION:
The challenge involves dealing with creativity upon your piece, integration of elements in
poetry, skills in speech choir and dealing with group mates. The group should perform the piece
in the minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 7 minutes. You can use sound effects as
long as there is no voice overs applied. You are free to use any decent costumes but you are
encouraged in using recyclable materials. Props are allowed as long as it will not harm any
members or person in the event.

You have to perform a speech choir that is based from Performance Task #1. The
purpose is to attain the learning competency in which to apply various elements, techniques and
literary devices used in Poetry. Moreover, it is to support the said celebration and to promote
local tourism in the Philippines.

JOURNAL/PORTFOLIO ASSESSMENT
GOAL:
Your goal is to submit an accomplished journal provided with the color coded given by
the teacher and must be a standard filler of notebook. The journal will also serve as the portfolio
for all the activities and written works to be done in the class. The journal must be submitted in
surprise or scheduled dates as advised by the teacher. You should write and compile all journal
entries and other short exercises exploring key elements of the different genres.

ROLE:
You are creative writers who value literature.

AUDIENCE:
You need to influence your classmates, teachers, friends, school and the community
about the importance of writing and literature in the 21st century.

SITUATION:
The challenge involves patience dealing with the journal entries to be given, compiling
the written works, quizzes, assessments to be done in the class, and integration of the
elements, techniques and literary devices of different genres.

PRODUCT, PERFORMANCE, and PURPOSE:


You must come up with a meaningful and productive journal. The purpose is to attain the
learning competency in which to explore key elements, techniques and literary devices used in
different genres. Moreover, it is to give importance to writing and literature.
