The document is a summary of questions that will be covered in an exam on Advanced Concrete Technology for a Civil Engineering course. There are 11 questions on topics like cement hydration, fly ash classification, compatibility of cement and admixtures, uses of supplementary cementitious materials, GGBFS, foaming agents, interfacial transition zone issues, definitions of false and flash set, and the impact of cement properties on production. The last question involves designing a concrete mix for a shear wall with specified grade, slump, materials, and admixtures and calculating mix proportions with and without admixtures.

Whats the impact of LoI, Clinker alkalis and SO3 levels during cement production (3 Marks) 10. Calculate the capillary pores for the cement paste having a w/c of 0.55. assuming 100% hydration and no evaporation takes place . take the specific gravity of cement as 3.16 (3 Marks) 11. Design an M75 grade concrete to construct a shear wall & obtain a slump of 100 mm. 53 grade OPC is used having a specific gravity of 3.15 & w/cm table given below, Crushed stone sand conforming to Zone 2 and having a specific gravity of 2.62 is used as fine aggregate, Coarse aggregate used is angular type granite stones having a combined specific gravity of 2.81, 70% of 12.5mm and 30% of 10 mm to be used. PCE are used (0.4% dosage by weight of cementitious content) having a specific gravity of 1.06. GGBFS is used as mineral admixture at 45% replacement level having a specific gravity of 2.65. Free moisture in CA and FA is 0.4% and 3.5% respectively. Use std deviation as 6 MPa & X as 8 MPa, entrapped air percentage for 10 mm and 12.5 mm is 1 % & 0.8% respectively, water content for 50 mm slump for 10 mm and 12.5 mm is 200 kg & 195 kg resp., Vol of CA per unit volume of agg for 0.3w/cm under zone 2 for 10 mm and 12.5 mm is 0.54 & 0.56 resp., also find the mix proportions for the above grade when no admixtures are used (10 Marks)
