Explain some of the ways in which humans are damaging the environment.

What can
governments do to address these problems? What can individual people do?
It is irrefutable that human activities are mainly attributable to environmental problems.
However, we are also able to take some courses of action to minimize the damage that we
are causing. This essay will unveil environmental issues and propose some steps that can
be taken by both the governing bodies and individuals to tackle them.
There are many human activities that exter damage on the surroundings, which can be
short-listed to 2 main ones air pollution and waste. Unfiltered gas emission from industry in
addition to the exhaust fumes from vehicles result in the deterioration in the quality of air and
global warming. This, in turn, has a devastating effect on our health in the long run.
Moreover, the increase in consumerism, which includes the use of plastic items and non-
disposable packaging, yields an uncountable amount of trash. Such garbage is thrown into
the environment, causing pollution that does harm to many species.

The officials could certainly make effort to reduce air pollution.More legistations should be
introduced to limit emissions from factories or to force companies to takerenewable energy
into use. They could also impose ‘green taxes’ on the automobiles and airline industry. In
this way, people would be encouraged to use public transport abroad, therefore leading to
reduction in emissions.

Individuals should also take responsibility for the impact they have on the environment. They
can, as mentioned, use public transport rather than private vehicles and make their choice of
products with recyclable packaging. Also, they should reuse as much as possible in order to
produce less waste .

In conclusion, both national governments and individuals must play their part in taking care
of the environment.
