Vocabularies in Hotel

1. Single bed/twin bed : A twin bed is the smallest type of bed, where one person can
sleep.
2. Queen bed : Queen bed is a large bedroom bed used for 2 adults
3. King Bed : A king bed is a bed that is larger than a queen bed, and can
accommodate two people comfortably.
4. Single Room : A single room is for one person, and usually has a full-size bed
(double bed).
5. Double Room  : A double room usually has space for two guests, with a double
bed (full-size) or queen-size bed.
6. Twin room : A twin room usually has space for two guests, but in two separate
beds (twin/single beds).
7. Triple room : A triple room can sleep three guests, either in one double bed and
a single bed, or a different combination of three.
8. Suite : A suite is bigger than your normal hotel room. In fancy hotels,
suites could even have multiple rooms. You might also see an executive suite or a family
suite.
9. Balcony : A balcony is an outside platform surrounded by some kind of
railing, connected to a hotel room. The balcony is on a higher floor than the ground floor
(second floor and up).
10. Bathtub : The tub is in the bathroom, where one can clean themselves by
taking a shower.
11. Shower : The shower allows people to shower standing up. The shower
head is the part that sprays the water, and the drain is on the floor, where the water comes
out.
12. Towels : People use towels to dry themselves after bathing or bathing.
There are also smaller hand towels, and bath mats—towels you place on the floor to stand
on.
13. Room service : This is a service that allows guests to order food or drinks and
have it delivered to their hotel room.
14. Linen : This is the type of fabric used in hotels
15. Bar : A bar is a place to order drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic
16. Buffet : A buffet is a buffet consisting of various types of food, and guests
serve themselves.

hotel building) or outdoors (outside).
19. Spa : A spa is a place for relaxation perhaps offering a massage or a
sauna (a small room filled with hot steam).

21. Receptionist : Is the receptionist and is usually at the front desk
22. Lobby : This is an area shared by all hotel guests, usually on the ground
floor near reception.
23. Banquet/meeting room : This is a large room used for large events, such as conferences
or weddings.
24. Bellboy : These are all names for people who help guests carry their
suitcases/luggage to the room.
25. Housekeeping : These are the people who clean the hotel and its rooms.
26. Kitchen : Kitchen is a place to process food and drinks before being served
to guests
27. Check – In : First thing used to book a hotel room
28. Check-Out : Check out is the process when guests leave the hotel after settling
in the hotel
29. Engineering : The department in the hotel used for the engineering department
