- Blades of Glory (Cricket Museum)

Working hypothesis/ Concept/ Theme of the documentary:

- Documenting the history of the museum and taking a look at the rich collection of
artifacts it displays.
- Talking to the owner of the museum who was also a member of the U-19
Maharashtra cricket team and understanding the story behind the museum’s
existence.

- Overall, this will be a comprehensive and complete look at the world’s biggest
cricket museum and the stories attached to it.

Mode and Approach to Documentary:

- This documentary will primarily be expository in nature while also having


elements of reflexive and participatory.

- Approach will be “ I speak about them to you”

- Voice will be Direct Embodied.

Description of five segments of the documentary:

- Invention:
- Archival footage of India winning the World Cup followed by a closeup of the
cricket bat signed by MS Dhoni.Then we will show Rohan Pate (owner of the
museum) talk about that particular moment and what it meant to him. This will
show that the documentary is about the sport of cricket and a museum that
retains its former glory intact.

- Arrangement:
- India’s 2011 World Cup win
- Introduction of the central location and character
- Exploring and establishing the contents of the music
- Understanding the owners craze for the sport and dedication towards the music
- His reflections on everything that led to this moment with regards to his personal
life and the sport of Cricket.

- Style:
- We will try to make our documentary stand out by trying to blend archival footage
,facts and the human element together in an honest and creative way.
- Memory:
- Since cricket is constantly growing in popularity with all demographics , it will be
easier for people to understand the craze behind the sport and the desire to
collect props and artifacts that immortalise the legendary moments of the
sport.Hence it will be easy for the audience to connect with the documentary.

- Delivery:
- In a format that is supported by major online platforms like Youtube.

- Rohan Pate, a former U-19 Maharashtra cricket player and owner of the museum
- Visitors in the museum (if any)
- Some staff at the museum who help with maintenance.

Possible archival footage required for the documentary:

- Images/ newspaper clippings or video clips of the captains of the winning team in
the World Cup and T20s signing their bats.

- Images of cricketers wearing their gear or owning certain personal items related
to cricket during their historic matches so as to draw a comparison with their
current location in the museum.

Working hypothesis/ Concept/ Theme of the documentary:


- Documenting the Sufi-Rock musical band to know more about its members who
wish to change the perception of Sufi music by giving it a touch of rock.

- Talking to the members to know a bit more about their background,aspirations


towards music and how it managed to unite 4 people to work on the fusion of two
different music genres and create something beautiful out of it.

- Their journey since inception in 2009, composition, thought process while


working on their music, albums, tours, gigs done till date.

- Overall, the documentary would give the viewers an insight into a band based in
Pune who strives to blend two genres belonging to different cultures to give birth
to something uniquely beautiful, leaving their listeners mesmerized.

- This documentary will primarily be reflexive in nature with elements of


observational.

- Approach will be “ It tells about them to us”

- Voice will be Indirect Embodied.

Description of five segments of the documentary:

- Invention:
We will open with the band finishing up a song (about 30 seconds) followed by
one of the members introducing the band and the fusion that they employ in their
music.This will set the context of the documentary and also tell the audience right
away about why this band is different and needs to be looked at.

- Arrangement :
Establishing the kind of music that this band plays
Taking a look at each individual members of the band
Understanding their thought process behind this type of fusion
Understanding the audience reception to this band
Some archival footage from their past shows
Understanding how and why they make their music and what keeps them going.
- Style:
We will try to use voice overs from the band members , archival footage , clips
from performances and other exclusive footage to try and tell a compelling story .

- Memory:
Music is something that everybody relates to and falls back upon at various
stages in their lives. By looking at a band that is trying to carve its own niche with
a unique blend of Sufi and Rock music ,we will be able to take our viewers into
the realm of music creation and how an artist thinks and works in order to
produce something that they enjoy on a daily basis.

- Delivery:
- In a format that is supported by major online platforms like Youtube.

Working hypothesis/ Concept/ Theme of the documentary:

- Documenting the famous and the oldest wax museum of various celebrities.
- Talking to the owner to understand more about the history of the place and
reasons for its popularity.

- Understanding the mechanism of the entire process, and the reason for the
owner to get into this profession.

Mode and Approach to Documentary:

- This documentary will primarily be reflexive in nature with elements of


observational.

- Approach will be “ It tells about them to us”

- Voice will be Indirect Embodied.

Description of five segments of the documentary:

- Invention: We will open with the feet of a wax statue and move towards the face.
The owner then steps in and talks about the statue followed by archival footage
of various celebrities getting their photos clicked with their respective statues. It
will, therefore, set the context for what the documentary is all about.

- Arrangement:

- Establishing the scene


- Establishing the owner
- Establishing the craft involved
- Archival footage to show the level of attention and popularity the museum has
gained throughout the years.
- Interviews with the stakeholders such as the owner, people involved in making
the wax statue and visitors.
- Closing remarks of the owner about the journey that got him here.

- Style: We will blend the archival footages along with the making process and
human interest and novelty elements.

- Memory: Since the museum hosts wax statues of various celebrities who are
adored by the Indian audience, it is easy for them to connect with the thought
process of the owner and understand his desire, thereby showing appreciation
for his pieces.
