LAC 3 Session Guide

Duration of Session 4 hours

DISCUSS The session went directly to the review of the previous topics discussed. The facilitator
reminded all participants on the importance of making use of the green screen for
background. Also to remember that it is important to check the settings and start recording.
Remember the output mode should be simple. Click on desktop audio. Remember to click
on video at 1280 (7020) which represents the pixels. Set the video results in FPS = 30. Click
on apply to set the audio.
The initial step was to click studio mode by choosing the setting and source. It will then
result to split screen source where one screen will serve as the “back stage’ and the other
screen as the actual video which is recorded by the software.
The speaker then demonstrated the procedure on how to create an OBS that includes the
following steps; (1) click the studio mode and watch the screen split into two, a preview and
a program. (2) Remind everyone to download the app and install it in their laptops. OBS can
only work on laptops and computers and not on cell phones.
Sir Bong ensured that all participants are familiar with using the interface/ GUI screen and
discussed the following terms and how they are used in the OBS program User interface,
Scene, sources, transition and control. He also showed how to use setting by placing the
output where it can be saved. It is important to keep everything in one folder, and to
remember that if one resource is removed it will not run anymore.
ACTIVITY Make an introduction to your video. Use the video capture device where you can create
new background and click okay. Remember in re-sizing the image to be used by clicking on
the red box and adjusting to desired size. Click on video to locate using the open screen and
click on transition, example fade.
The speaker emphasized that when recording the next screen is open, click transform
proceed to center image in the screen. To latch it in place click on the lock button, and to
add image or background click add button to create new, then click okay , click browse then
click okay after choosing the background image from the dialogue box then click open ,click
on okay if chosen image is acceptable lock it.
To add video click on add / + button look for media source either audio or video. Then click
the media source and place name then click okay. Then find a video and download the video
background, click open choose loop then click okay, choose transition, drag and resize to
acceptable extent. Always remember to rename the file and save in a separate folder.
The procedure to be followed as relayed by the speaker when inserting video is the
following ; (1) to loop , click add button (2) find media source (3) create new (4) click okay
(remember to rename) (5) click browse (6) search
(7) click okay (8) then open (9) choose loop ( 10) click okay (11) choose transition ( to play

video) (12) place over layers (13) click on lock button
The use of the green screen is advisable especially when making video. It also is to be noted
that when resizing the image, (1) remove the lock, (2) note at this time the red button will
return, (3) Click on ALT button (4) then trim and resize while pressing the ALT button (5)
right click on the camera (6) click filter (7) rename folder (8) select the colors for the
background then add text by clicking add (+) button (9) click subject title (10) click okay (11)
click what your title is,(12) scroll down to choose for color , select the color example white,
(13) click select color for the background , remember to raise the background opacity the
click okay.
What to do for inserting moving text (1)first is to click the (+) button , then create new (2)
create title of document eg. Announcement (3) choose a background, preferably black. (4)
click okay (5) re size down (6) arrange by double clicking “Announcement” and add
instructions (7) add instructions by finding announcement text , right click and filter then
click (+) button, (8) scroll down and click okay, (9) find or swipe for the horizontal speed,
(10) click close and scroll text will move .
In adding the Audio remember to (1) choose add audio input capture then create new,
choose condenser mic/microphone to find the type of mic to be used eg. Real tech high
definition (2) click okay (3) click transition (4) choose audio properties – click monitor and
output (to lock mic).
For the background noise removal (1) click mic (2) Right click filter (3) add compressor ( 4)
click okay .
This software also allows you to add scene selections coming from your saved folders. When
background and images are set, you can add slides by opening your power points and
clicking slide show.
To make a video lecture on the power point selected follow these simple steps; (1) select
slide show (2) choose show type (3) click browse by an individual (4) click okay (5) resize the
power point (6) click F5 to present (7) go back to OBS click window capture (8) click the add
button, (9) click window capture (10) add name or title (11) click “ON” (12) then click Okay
(13) find power point from files (14) add slim or resize (15) click ALT and resize to trim
( remember to click on the red box to resize (16) choose transition (17) start record.
The speaker reminded everyone that when moving to the next slide the control is on the
power point and not on the OBS. Click on Start recording to record and click stop recording
to end video.
PLAN It is recommended that all those who have attended the program should put into heart and
practice the lectures that the able facilitator graciously shared to all the participants
Clincher It has been known that the learners are the topmost priority of every school. It must be
remembered that despite the difficulties being faced by both learners and teachers in
implementation of education process in the new normal it is still important that every
learner can be reached out to and included in the learning roster and they must not be left
behind. The school and its teachers are always ready to adjust to the call of times for the
good of the learners.
