Activity 2- Communication

BOLDIOS, PSYCHE VALERIE B. BSN-3A NCM 114

Growing up, I didn’t get the chance to spend time with my grandparents
since I was the youngest granddaughter in our family and they already
passed away when I was just little except my Nanay Nita. I can vividly
remember during my childhood days how I would immediately go to her mini
store to ask for snacks after I play with my friends. She would always
remind me to drink tons of water and to put towel in my back up until now. I
am forever grateful for her tender loving care for us and I will cherish my
memories with her in my heart.

Based on the photo above, communication is applied through conveying

and expressing our feelings and thoughts as we took the photos. Moreover,
the picture depicts how our emotions are overflowing and simply by looking
at it, you can already feel the connection of us towards each other. I believe
that developing good communication skills is critical for successful
relationships.
Effective communication within the family can lead to better
relationships between the members of the family. It must be built on a
foundation of trust, listening and understanding. The more effectively your
family can communicate together, the stronger relationship gets. It will keep
you open to share thoughts and foster a safe home environment in which all
members of your family can feel comfortable and secure in their
relationships.

In today's world, though, families may be scattered across the country,

and hectic school and work schedules may interfere with regular time with
grandparents. Despite physical distance, we should always make time for our
loved ones to develop a meaningful bond to treasure. With that being said,
when you are able to communicate with family members, you will be able to
share what you believe and learn what others feel is right. You could even
grow a better appreciation for them.

As grandchildren, it is our duty to care for and appreciate the seniors in

our family. We have the ability to light up our grandparents’ lives and to bring
happiness to their home, giving them a sense of warmth and fulfilment
knowing that they are not alone. Furthermore, visiting them will help us get
happier, and also keep them feel appreciated. The time we have on this earth
is short, but the time we have with our grandparents is even shorter. Thus, we
must cherish and seize every bits of their remaining moments in this lifetime.
