Mineral is a naturally occurring inorganic element or compound having an orderly internal

structure and characteristic chemical composition, crystal form, and physical properties.
Minerals differ from rocks, which is rocks are naturally occurring solids composed of one or
more minerals. A rock is any naturally occurring solid mass or aggregate of minerals. It is
categorized by the minerals included, its chemical composition and the way in which it is
formed. Rocks are usually grouped into three main groups: igneous rocks, metamorphic rocks
and sedimentary rocks. Although there may be many differences between rocks and minerals,
there are only a few similarities between them. Rocks as well as minerals are found in the
Earth's crust, another similarity between the two is that rocks as well as minerals both are solid
form and they are both natural and it is by natural resources.

A mineral is a solid inorganic substance of natural occurrence, its naturally made of elements or
compounds and it has orderly internal structure and characteristic. A mineral has a unique
chemical composition and is necessarily defined by its crystalline structure and shape. On the
other hand, since a rock can be composed of several minerals it is classified according to the
process of its formation. A rock can also contain organic remains. There are three main types of
rocks: sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic. Each of these rocks are formed by physical
changes. The similarities and differences between rocks and minerals that. A rock is composed
of one or more minerals and sometimes mineraloids but do not have a crystal structure. A
mineral is a chemical substance made up of one or more chemicals having a definite crystal
structure. Rocks do not have a definite chemical composition whereas minerals do
