II. Teaching aids:
Teacher’s aids: student’s book and teacher’s book, class CDs, flashcards, IWB
software, projector/interactive whiteboard/TV.
Students’ aids: Student’s book, notebook, workbook.

5’ Warm-up  Teacher –
Sing the song “7Days in a week” whole class

Option 1:  Teacher –
"Buzz" game whole class
 Get students standing in a circle.
 Start by passing the ball around the circle with students say a
day as pass the ball (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday,…. etc.).
When the day reaches “Sunday” the student holding the ball
must say "Buzz" instead of “Sunday”.
Option 2:  Teacher –
Swat the fly. whole class/
 Students work in groups. Each group has a fly swatter. groupwork
 Place flashcards (days of the week) on the board.
 Call out a word.
 Students compete to swat the correct picture and make a
sentence about the word they have swatted. E.g. Today is
Monday.
 The winner will get 1 point for his/her group.
25’ Presentation and practice
Sing the Number Song Let’s count 1 - 10  Teacher –

10. Listen and read. (Track 14)
Pupils' books closed.
 Present the story with the help of the story cards. E. g. The
children are playing hide- and- seek….
Pupils’ books open.  Teacher –
 Play audio and ask the students to listen and follow along in whole class/
their books. individuals/
 Play audio again and pause from time to time for the students groupwork
to repeat, chorally and individually. Check their
pronunciation/intonation. Then, have individual students read
out from the text.
 Divide the class into small groups and have them read the
story in their group.
Role play  Teacher –
 Have students work in groups of three and play roles of the whole class/
story. groupwork
“Get in line” game.
 Have students work in groups of ten. Have each student in  Teacher –
the group say a number from 1 -10 whole class/
 Ask each group to stand in a line with their numbers from 1 to Groupwork
ten or with the numbers count down.
 Give points for each correct answer.

 Have students open their Activity Books – page 7  Teacher –

 Have students look at the exercises number 5 and 7 carefully. whole class/
individuals
 Set up time limit by 1 minute timer bomb (source:

 Have students start doing their exercises. When the time
ends by explosion students stop doing their work.
 Check understanding and give the correct answers as a
whole class.
5’ Follow – up
Option 1:  Teacher –
Back to back dictation whole class/
 Divide the class into pairs and have them sit back to back. pair work
Give each student a piece of paper
 Student A says a number. Student B writes down the word.
Swap the roles.
 Once finished, the two students compare the answers.
Option 2:  Teacher –
“Board Race” Game whole class/
 Divide the class into four groups and have students make four individuals/
lines. groupwork
 Give each group some chalk.
 Teacher says a word and student in each group run to the
board write the word they heard.
