or there are (for plural).

Asking Where Things Are, Saying Where Things Are

Here is how you ask about the location of things.

Verb to be Object

Where is my desk?

Where are the supplies?

Where is the coffee?

When you say where things are, you name the location.

Examples:
• Alex: Where is my book?
Bruce: Your book is here.
• Adam: Where are the binders?
Brian: The binders are in the supply room.
