The Impact of Globalization on How People Communicate

As technology advances or development, our world is becoming smaller and

smaller because today we are now able to communicate with the people who are
miles away. We can share information via many mediums with people in various
time zones and locales. The old traditional way of exchanging of message like, you
need to write a message and need to go center and the person/ receiver need to
wait a day to arrive that the old way of exchanging information. Unlike now we
just need to type and send it via email, facebook, twitter, Instagram and other
social media platform. Technology and Internet help a lot in communication these
today. However, since we can just communicate with people through social media
or other platforms, it makes us lack of communication skills especially when we
talk with people face-to-face. For example, Jasmin is talkative in facebook, twitter,
Instagram etc. But when she is meeting with other people in real life, she may not
be as good as in social media or internet. Another wonderful benefit of
globalization is that the world becomes more accessible and equitable in general.
Search engines, Ebooks, online courses and other virtual education give more
people the ability to learn about subjects that used to require a certain level of
income or social positioning. Information isn’t as restricted and it allows us the
opportunity not only receive information but to enter into academic spaces and
contribute. Globalization creates a space for ideas to transcend boarders and
social strata.
