Beer Assignment

1. Beer is an alcoholic beverage that is produced through the fermentation process of

starchy materials and is not distilled after fermentation. Starting from writing in Egypt in
1600 BC wrote 100 prescriptions using beer. A few years ago, New Castle Brewery in
England prepared 1,000 bottles of Tutankhamun Ale based on an ancient 3,200 year old
recipe found in Queen Nefertiti's sun temple. Commercial brewing began in 1200 AD in
what is known as today's Germany. In 1506, the German law on purity was passed,
requiring that the content of beer be only water, barley, wheat, and hops. Beer bottling
began in 1605.

2.

● Grain (mostly malted barley but also other grains)

● Hops (grown in many different varieties)
● Yeast (responsible for fermentation, based on style-specific strains)
● Water (accounts for up to 95 percent of beer’s content)

Other ingredients in beer :

● Coriander seeds, often in Belgian beers and certainly in white beer
● Coffee
● Cherries
● Citrus fruit
3. - (malting process) Brewing beer begins with grains, usually barley, although oats and
wheat can also be used.
- (mashing the malt) Malt is added to the Mash Tun and left to steep in hot water,
producing a sugary liquid called wort.
- (boiling and adding hops) The wort is transferred into a Copper where hops are added
for bitterness. The wort is boiled for about an hour, after which more hops are added for
aroma.
- (fermentation) Once the wort is cooled, it’s put into a fermentation vessel where yeast
is added to it.
- filtering, processing, and bottling

4. - Ale

Ale is a type of beer brewed using a warm fermentation method, resulting in a sweet and
fruity taste. Historically, the term referred to a drink brewed without hops. As with most
beers, ale typically has a bittering agent to balance the malt and act as a preservative.
An example of this type of beer is Foam Brewers.

- Lager

Lager is a type of beer conditioned at low temperatures. The lager fermentation is

carried out in cold temperatures, usually below 10 ° C. Lagers can be pale, amber, or
dark. Pale lager is the most widely consumed and commercially available style of
beer. An example of this type of beer is Bock, Dunkel lager.
- Stout
Stout is a type of beer that is dark in color, has a bitter taste. example of this type of
beer Guinness beer. besides that beer stout also uses oatmeal which makes it
sweeter

5. Bir Bintang, this company was first established as Nederlandsch-Indische

Bierbrouwerijen on November 21, 1931, in Surabaya and produced Java Bier, which
was the forerunner to Bir Bintang. Then the Heineken Group became the major
stakeholder of the company and changed its name to Heineken. It was taken over by the
Indonesian government during the nationalization period, but in the end, Heineken was
taken over to form PT Multi Bintang Indonesia until now. In addition to displaying photos
and documentation letters related to the establishment of the company, Bintang Gallery
also displays a number of ancient and modern equipment that has been used in the
brewing process, from scales, grinding tubes, beer pouring pipes, to beer bottle sensor
machines. In addition, the gallery provides information about the correct way to brew
beer with alcohol content, according to the rules. according to my predictions for the next
5 years, this company can continue to run, because until now many customers still buy
this beer, the price is also affordable, plus this company has a star gallery where they
display the tools they use for brewing itself , it can become a new tourist destination for
tourists.
